摘要: An inner cladding exposure section 14 is formed by removing a part of an outer cladding 4 of an optical amplification medium fiber 10 which has a porous layer 3 between the inner cladding 2 and the outer cladding 4 in a longitudinal direction. An end surface 23 of an optical fiber 20 for the excited light incidence is cemented on an outer periphery of the exposed inner cladding 2. The excited light 24 is incident into the optical amplification medium fiber 10 from the optical fiber 20 for the excited light incidence. By doing this, it is possible to provide a method for exciting a light in an optical amplification medium fiber which can realize a superior amplitude while emitting the excited light so as to be incident into the optical amplification medium fiber highly efficiently.

摘要: An image forming device capable of providing an image of excellent quality without unevenness of density. According to the image forming device, a controller measures light quantity for each light emitting element of the exposing device as to the pattern where only one of the light emitting elements is turned on, and as to the pattern where all the light emitting elements are turned on. Based on the data about the measured light quantity, a change rate in the light quantity distribution of the exposing device is calculated. Based on the data about the measured light quantity and the change rate in the light quantity distribution calculated, correction value for each of the light emitting elements of the exposing device is determined.

摘要: A method of producing an optical waveguide grating by exposure to light. An optical waveguide having a core composed of a material wherein the refractive index changes due to exposure to UV light is formed into an optical waveguide grating by applying a grating portion formation step wherein a grating portion is formed by irradiation with UV light at a predetermined spacing, and an overall exposure step after formation of the grating portion wherein the entire grating portion is irradiated with UV light. As a result, the effective refractive index of the grating portion is changed so as to allow the central wavelength to be adjusted without changing the rejection. Consequently, the grating properties can be precisely and easily controlled.

摘要: An image forming apparatus, such as an electrophotographic copier, forms a test image on a photosensitive member, under constant image forming conditions, and the amount of toner adhering to the photosensitive member is detected. The detected amount of toner is converted into a developer toner concentration, based on a conversion standard. The toner concentration is used to control the operation of a toner replenishment device. The conversion standard is periodically corrected by forming a test image using a developer having a known toner concentration, detecting the amount of adhered toner, comparing the detected result to a standard value, and selecting one conversion standard table from among a number of different conversion tables.

摘要: In an electrophotographic image forming apparatus, the resistance of an transfer material is detected to which a toner image is transferred. The amount of adhered toners of a standard image is detected, and the development bias voltage is controlled according to the detected amount of adhered toners. Then, the transfer voltage is controlled by taking into account the resistance of the transfer material, the charges of adhered toners and the development bias voltage. Thus, the transfer efficiency is stabilized so that a stable image is formed with reproducible colors and densities. For a dot image, an area ratio of a standard dot toner image is detected, and at least one of an amount of charges for charging the photoconductor uniformly, an intensity of the light beam for exposing the photoconductor and the development bias voltage is controlled according to the detected area ratio.

摘要: The image forming apparatus is provided with a detecting means for detecting transfer efficiency when transferring a toner image from a photosensitive member to a transfer sheet, and a developing efficiency changing means for changing developing efficiency based on the transfer efficiency detected by the detecting means, and corrects the toner consumption predicted by the predicting means based on the transfer efficiency as detected by the detecting means, so as to determine the amount of toner to be replenished. When the developing efficiency is changed based on the transfer efficiency, toner consumption also changes, and does not match the predicted toner consumption. According to the present invention, toner concentration in a developer can be even more accurately controlled by correcting the predicted toner consumption by the change in transfer efficiency. Detection of transfer efficiency is achieved by a method of indirectly detecting humidity in the apparatus, or a method of measuring the amount of toner transferred to a transfer member.
