摘要: In order to desirably prevent leakage of a working fluid from the tip clearance to reduce loss of a heat drop of the working fluid, a first corresponding blade of a second stationary blade row, which corresponds to a first reference blade of a first stationary blade row, is disposed in a position distant by 2L from the position of a lower end of a rotor blade in the direction of movement of the rotor blades when the rotor blade makes the closest approach to a lower end of the first reference blade. It should be noted that L is a value obtained by multiplying the average time T required for the high-pressure working fluid to pass through the rotor blade by the traveling speed U of the rotor blade. On the other hand, a second corresponding blade of the second stationary blade row, which corresponds to a second reference blade of the first stationary blade row, is disposed in a position of a lower end of a rotor blade when the rotor blade makes the closest approach to a lower end of the first reference blade.

摘要: In a first step, an input image constituted of a region of interest and a region of non-interest is transformed into plural frequency component images through plural wavelet transforms. In a second step, part of the plural frequency component image is selected as control target images and a region corresponding to the region of interest and a region corresponding to the region of non-interest are set in each of the control target images in a unit of a predetermined coding block. In a third step, among image data of the frequency component images, image data of the region corresponding to the region of non-interest in each control target image is changed to a zero value. In a fourth step, in the unit of the coding block, bit plane coding is applied to the image data changed in the third step without changing a bit plane structure, thereby generating coded data.

摘要: A low-noise separated core engine type turbofan engine is provided in which noise generated by a control propulsion device is reduced by using high pressure air as the working fluid of a turbine for driving a control fan used in the attitude control of the airframe. A control fan 17 of a separated core engine type turbofan engine 1, which is comprised in a control propulsion device 4 provided for attitude control of the aircraft, is driven by an air turbine 19 which uses as working fluid high pressure air compressed by a compressor 6 of the core engine 2 and supplied through a duct 10. The speed of the working fluid which is discharged from the control fan 17 and air turbine 19 is sufficiently low for attitude control and not as high as the speed of the working fluid which is discharged from a propulsion device 3 which is provided for thrust, and thus noise generated by the control propulsion device 4 can be reduced.

摘要: Disclosed are a packaging component for packaging a microelectronic (e.g., III-V semiconductor) device, the packaged microelectronic device, and methods for manufacture thereof. The component has sequentially deposited layers of metal (37, 50), to be located within the package, to act as a hydrogen getter. The sequentially deposited layers of metal include at least a first layer (3) of Ni adjacent the housing member surface, to improve adherence of the sequentially deposited layers and interstitially trap hydrogen; an outermost layer (11) of palladium to convert molecular hydrogen to hydrogen atoms and to absorb hydrogen; and a layer (9) of Ti or Zr adjacent this outermost layer. Additional layers (5, 7) of nickel and of titanium or zirconium can be provided between the first layer and the layer adjacent the outermost layer. Desirably, the surface of the housing member is roughened prior to depositing the first layer thereon.

摘要: An optical pickup comprises an objective-lens driving device including a movable section provided with an objective lens, a focusing coil, and tracking coils, and a fixed section provided with a single magnetic circuit having a magnetic gap, the focusing coil and the tracking coils being disposed in the magnetic gap. The point of application of a tracking-driving force, the point of application of a result force of focusing-driving forces occurring in and outside the magnetic gap, and the position of the center of gravity of the movable section are made to substantially coincide with each other. In addition, the objective lens and the magnetic circuit are disposed within an area of a window in a lower shell of a optical disk. Further, a through hole for accommodating a lower portion of a yoke of the magnetic circuit is provided in a mounting base on which the objective-lens driving device is mounted. An inclining fulcrum and a height adjusting means for inclining the objective-lens driving device about the inclining fulcrum are provided in the vicinities of the through hole.
