摘要: A cartridge body is formed with a chamber storing ink and a recessed portion having an ink outlet port from which ink in the chamber flows out. An elastic gasket has a first through hole and is fitted into the recessed portion. A gasket stopper has a second through hole and is fitted into the recessed portion such that the gasket is pressed against an inner face of the recessed portion. A hollowed needle having a hole at a tip end thereof is inserted into the ink outlet port while passing through the first through hole and the second through hole and while enlarging the first through hole in order to supply the ink in the chamber to an ink jet recording head via the hole.

摘要: The present invention provides a complex optical device capable of decreasing electric power consumption, generating a high quality laser, and modulating the laser without degradation. The complex optical device includes a laser diode element (LD) and an electroabsorption modulator element (EAM) which are formed on the same substrate and optically coupled with each other. Both of the LD and the EAM are formed from a semiconductive upper cladding layer having a first conductive type, an insulating core layer, and a semiconductive lower cladding layer having a second conductive type opposite to the first conductive type. The electrical isolation layer extending through the core layer from the surface of the upper cladding layer up to the surface of the substrate is formed by an ion injection at an area between the LD and the EAM to isolate the LD and the EAM electrically. The ion injection does not optically have an influence on the insulating core layer through which the LD and the EAM are optically coupled with each other.

摘要: A method for recovering platinum group elements comprises charging an oxide raw material entraining platinum group elements, copper oxide, solid carbonaceous reducing agent and flux into a closed electric furnace equipped with at least one electrode for heating material and a roof for substantially shielding material charged into the furnace from the exterior atmosphere. The charged material is melted and reduced to form a layer of molten metal under a molten slag layer and enrich platinum group elements in this molten metal. The oxide raw material, copper oxide, solid carbonaceous reducing agent and flux are prepared as powdery or particulate materials, premixed and then charged into the electric furnace. The heat-melted material in the furnace is allowed to stand at a temperature of 1200° to 1500° C. for at least 5 hours, with the molten metal containing platinum group elements then being discharged outside the furnace.

摘要: A label printer has an on-board peeling mechanism that easily replaces label paper and removing paper jams with limited space for opening and closing the printer. The label printer has a printing mechanism for printing labels while conveying label paper having a plurality of label affixed to a continuous web liner, and a peeling unit for peeling printed labels from the web liner conveyed through a curved transport path by bending the printed label paper acutely from the back side of the web liner. The peeling unit is attached to a printer cover which is mounted openably and closably to the label paper compartment in the printer housing.

摘要: A label peeling mechanism and a label printer having a label peeling mechanism reliably print and dispense labels without problems such as paper jams. The label peeling mechanism has a web-bending guide having a convex curved surface for bending a continuous web having labels affixed to the front surface thereof to an angle of less than or equal to 90 degrees with respect to the back side of the web; an upstream web pressure guide disposed upstream in the web transportation direction from the convex curved surface of the web-bending guide opposite a upstream guide surface of the web-bending guide; and a downstream web pressure guide disposed downstream in the web transportation direction from the curved surface of the web-bending guide opposite the downstream guide surface. A plurality of ribs is disposed to the upstream web pressure guide across the web width with a gap therebetween perpendicular to the web transportation direction. A plurality of guide rollers is disposed to the downstream web pressure guide across the web width with a gap therebetween perpendicular to the web transportation direction.
