摘要： An electric toothbrush is provided. The electric toothbrush has an elongated body including a handle, a head, and a neck extending between the handle and the head. A first bristle carrier having a plurality of bristles and a second bristle carrier having a plurality of bristles are disposed on the head and each of the first and second bristle carriers have an opening. An electric motor is operatively connected to a shaft, wherein operation of the electric motor moves the shaft in an orbital motion and wherein the shaft is operatively connected to the first and second bristle carriers to move the first and second bristle carriers.

摘要： An oral hygiene device (2) is disclosed having at least two motors (30, 36) to simultaneously vibrate and impart motion upon the head portion of the oral hygiene device (2), most beneficially at the tip (12). A first motor (30) is positioned in the handle housing (3) of the device (2) to impart a first frequency of movement to the tip (12). A second motor (36) is located in a head portion, generally in a shaft (8) of or an oral hygiene attachment to the device (2), to impart at least a second frequency of movement onto the tip (12). When both the first and second motors (30, 36) are activated, the resulting movement of the tip (12) of the device (2) may include complex, substantially random movements, depending in part on the frequencies at which the motors (30, 36) are operating.

By means of in particular a tapered disk (24), the brush axis (14) and the transverse axis (19) define between them an angle (28) departing from an apex (29). In operation of the electric toothbrush, the bristle carrier (11) performs a nutating motion about the transverse axis (19). This effects a revolving approaching/receding motion of the free ends of the bristles (15) resulting in an improved cleaning action on a user's teeth.

摘要： Two opposite iron core pole pieces of a magnetic resonance medical imager generate a static magnetic field in a patient imaging volume disposed between the pole pieces. Gradient coils are positioned in the face of a pole piece. Thin disc shaped (42, 44) or ring shaped (41) ferromagnetic parts laminated of layers cut favorably from transformer sheet material are attached to the face of the pole piece. Each layer is electrically insulated from adjacent layers and surfaces by enamel or fixing glue. To reduce eddy currents in these layers, narrow, radially oriented slots (43, 45) are cut in these layers before lamination. The slots are oriented in the adjacent layers so as not to coincide resulting in improved conduction of the magnetic flux in the imaging volume during the production of gradient magnetic fields by the gradient coils.

摘要： A circularly movable mechanical toothbrush having a fly wheel type drive shaft loosely joined to a rod near one edge thereof. Actuation of the fly wheel causes the rod to rotate in a distinct motion that causes toothbrush bristles to be maintained at all times toward selected teeth, which motion compactingly massages gums during a gradual approach stroke, aligns the bristles with tooth striations and interdental spaces during a sweeping brush stroke, and keeps the bristles disposed away from the user's cheek during a return stroke.
