Abstract: The invention relates to vision compensating spectacles comprising means of support (130, 140, 152) on a wearer's face and at least one optical subassembly (110, 120) mounted on the support means (130, 140, 152) opposite at least one of the wearer's eyes. The optical subassembly (110, 120) comprises three optical elements mounted on the support means in series along an optical axis: a first optical element of cylindrical power for a direction of gaze of the wearer along the optical axis, a second optical element of cylindrical power for the said direction of gaze and a third optical element of variable spherical power for the said direction of gaze. The first optical element and the second optical element are adjustable in rotation about the optical axis independently of one another.

Abstract: The invention relates to systems and methods for providing custom-fitted and styled wearable items such as eyewear based on measurements made from a user-provided image that is resized using a predefined reference that includes an image of an actual wearable item. The eyewear may be provided to a user, who wears the eyewear and provides an image of the user wearing the eyewear. The user-provided images may be compared to a predefined reference (e.g., an image of the eyewear) having a known scale and/or dimension. For example, a user-provided image may be overlaid with the predefined reference and resized so that the wearable item worn by the user in the user-provided image matches (the size of) the wearable item in the predefined reference. Because the scale and/or dimensions of the predefined reference are known, one or more measurements associated with the user may be made based on the user-provided image.

Abstract: A device for cleaning a contact lens includes a lid, a base portion and a drawer unit detachably coupled to the base portion. The drawer unit includes a container holding a volume of fluid therein. The device also includes a vibration generator for generating an oscillatory motion on the container, where the oscillatory motion induces turbulence in the fluid with sufficient force to dislodge deposits from a lens immersed in the fluid. The device also includes a circuit board secured to the base portion and a light source for generating radiation to disinfect the dislodged deposits in the fluid. A suspension secures the light source to the circuit board and a resonance frequency of the suspension is offset from a frequency of the oscillatory motion.

Abstract: A spectacle wearing parameter measurement device used in measurement of a spectacle wearing parameter of a subject who is to wear a spectacle frame, the spectacle wearing parameter measurement device includes: an information processing unit that acquires each of a first image as a face image of the subject in a spectacle-frame wearing state and a second image as a face image in a spectacle-frame non-wearing state and prepares a third image obtained by associating the first image and the second image; a display screen unit that displays the third image prepared by the information processing unit; an operation unit that specifies a measurement reference point of the spectacle wearing parameter on the third image displayed on the display screen unit; and a measurement computation section that calculates the spectacle wearing parameter by using data of the specified measurement reference point.

Abstract: Sets, kits or stocks of anti-myopia lenses and methods for their use, that do not require a clinician to measure peripheral refractive error in the eyes of myopic patients. Lenses having peripheral powers or defocus set in accordance with central corrective power will cover almost all normal myopes not worse than −6D central refractive error. For example, a kit or set of lenses (50, FIG. 15) can have multiple parts or sub-sets each with a compartmented container with lenses arranged according to increments of central corrective power. The lenses of the first part have four steps of peripheral power or defocus to provide therapeutic effect and, while the lenses of the second part also have four steps, the level of therapeutic effect is higher. Other examples of sets, kits and stocks, as well as examples of lenses themselves, are disclosed together with methods of use.

Abstract: A trial frame includes a trial frame body and at least one measurement subject having a visual invariant geometric characteristic. The trial frame body has at least one key parameter. The measurement subject is disposed on the trial frame body and collaborates with a measurement method. A two-dimensional image of the measurement subject is recorded by an image capturing device when the trial frame body fits to a user, and the key parameter is deduced from the two-dimensional image of the measurement subject.

Abstract: A method for determining ocular and optical measurements for the production and fitting of corrective eyeglasses for a user with the aid of the a camera. The method utilizes a protocol for reconstructing the system of the user's eyes in three dimensions by modeling the system of the eye, thereby providing precise ocular and optical measurements. The method uses test objects that are connected or not connected to the user's face.
