Abstract: A park ride for use in theme parks, amusement parks, and other settings. The new ride includes a track defining a ride path for a passenger vehicle (or multiple vehicles that may be linked in a train). The vehicle is configured, such as with a bogie assembly with two to four or more wheels, to roll upon and engage the track. The ride includes a drop swing propulsion system that is adapted to drop a section of track upon which the passenger vehicle is supported from a first elevation to a second elevation that is lower than the first elevation. The dropping motion involves swinging the track with a linkage assembly, which with other components of the system may form a four-bar linkage, so as to impart a propelling force on the vehicle to move it along an exit track section provided at the second, lower elevation.

Abstract: A system for providing a physical projection routine includes a hardware processor, a system memory storing a software code, and a projection platform. The hardware processor is configured to execute the software code to measure an environmental parameter of a venue, determine, based on the environmental parameter, a desired orientation of the projection platform for executing the physical projection routine, and orient the projection platform according to the desired orientation determined based on the environmental parameter. The hardware processor and software code then execute the physical projection routine by the projection platform oriented using the desired orientation determined based on the environmental parameter.

Abstract: A system includes a hardware processor and a memory storing software code. The hardware processor executes the software code to receive video frames, generate a unique identifier for association with the video frames, and determine whether the unique identifier is stored. If the unique identifier is stored, the software code is further executed to identify an encoded media file associated with the unique identifier, the encoded media file including encoded video frames corresponding respectively to the received video frames. Abstract: In some embodiments, a method trains a first parameter of a differentiable proxy codec to encode source content based on a first loss between first compressed source content and second compressed source content that is output by a target codec. A pre-processor pre-processes a source image to output a pre-processed source image, the pre-processing being based on a second parameter. The differentiable proxy codec encodes the pre-processed source image into a compressed pre-processed source image based on the first parameter. The method determines a second loss between the source image and the compressed pre-processed source image and determines an adjustment to the first parameter based on the second loss. The adjustment is used to adjust the second parameter of the pre-processor based on the second loss.

Abstract: A wide-angle, retroreflective real image display system that produces real images that can be viewed and interacted with by a group of people who can move about a space to view the real image. In one embodiment, the display system includes two or more stations each having their own retroreflector, beamsplitter, and displayed image or illuminated object. The stations, and their beamsplitters and retroreflectors are positioned adjacent at angular offsets or rotation angles, e.g., each neighboring or adjacent beamsplitter and retroreflector is rotated about an axis extending through the joining seam. The displayed images or illuminated objects are rotated at similar angles from each other to provide a retroreflective pyramid with co-located real images. In other embodiments, the display system uses a single retroreflector, beamsplitter, and displayed image or illuminated object but adds a pair of curved reflectors with matching shapes and sizes to provide an undistorted retroreflective real image.
