摘要: Methods include pressing and quenching a heated blank in a die to form the shaped steel object. A first portion of the heated blank is selectively cooled at a first cooling rate and a second portion of the heated blank selectively cooled at a lower second cooling rate. The shaped steel object has an alloy with wt. % of chromium at ≥about 0.5 to ≤about 6; carbon at ≥about 0.01 to ≤about 0.5; manganese at ≥about 0 to ≤about 3; silicon at ≥about 0.5 to ≤about 2; nitrogen at ≥0 to ≤about 0.01; nickel at ≥0 to ≤about 5; copper at ≥0 to ≤about 5; molybdenum at ≥0 to ≤about 5; vanadium at ≥0 to ≤about 1%; niobium at ≥0 to ≤about 0.1; and a balance being iron.

摘要: Systems for detecting movement of a trailer having a rearward facing camera and linked to a tow vehicle. The systems include taking a first image and a second image with the camera and comparing the images. A first amount of trailer movement is determined between the second image and the first image. The systems may also take additional images and determine a second amount of trailer movement occurring between the additional images. Tracking the first amount and the second amount of trailer movement determines an amount of trailer sway. The determined trailer sway may be compared to a maximum allowable sway and, if the movement is greater than the maximum allowable sway, mitigating sway of the trailer with the tow vehicle.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for vehicle speed planning based on timing of traffic lights. In an exemplary embodiment, a disclosed system includes one or more sensors of a vehicle; a transceiver; and a processor. The one or more sensors are configured to obtain vehicle sensor data pertaining to operation of the vehicle. The transceiver is configured to obtain traffic light data with respect to a plurality of traffic lights along a path or roadway on which the vehicle is travelling. The processor is coupled to the one or more sensors and to the transceiver, and is configured to at least facilitate: determining a desired control of movement of the vehicle based on the vehicle sensor data, the traffic light data, and one or more optimization criteria pertaining to the vehicle; and taking a vehicle action based on the desired control of movement of the vehicle.

摘要: A system in a vehicle includes a lidar system to transmit incident light and receive reflections from one or more objects as a point cloud of points. The system also includes processing circuitry to identify planar points and to identify edge points of the point cloud. Each set of planar points forms a linear pattern and each edge point is between two sets of planar points, and the processing circuitry identifies each point of the points of the point cloud as being within a virtual beam among a set of virtual beams. Each virtual beam of the set of virtual beams representing a horizontal band of the point cloud.

摘要: Presented are mobile charging stations for recharging electrified vehicles, methods for making/using such mobile charging stations, and parking facilities equipped with such mobile charging stations. A mobile charging station includes a frame with drive wheels and a prime mover operable to drive the wheels to propel the charging station. A hydrogen storage container and fuel cell are mounted to the frame. The fuel cell oxidizes hydrogen received from the storage container to generate electrical current. An electrical coupling mechanism connects the fuel cell to a battery pack of an electric-drive vehicle. A resident or remote controller is programmed to receive charge requests to recharge vehicles, and responsively determines path plan data for the mobile charging station. The controller commands the prime mover to propel the mobile charging station from the charger's origin to a charger destination, and enables the fuel cell to transmit electrical current to the vehicle.

摘要: An electrified drivetrain for a vehicle includes a first electric machine, a second electric machine, a clutch, an HVAC compressor, and a controller. The second electric machine is rotatably coupled to a geartrain, the first electric machine is rotatably coupled to the HVAC compressor, and is rotatably couplable to the geartrain via the clutch, and the clutch is operative in a first state and a second state. The first electric machine is rotatably coupled to the geartrain when the clutch is controlled to the first state, and is decoupled from the geartrain when the clutch is controlled to the second state. The controller is operatively connected to the first and second electric machines, the clutch, and the HVAC compressor to control operation of the electrified drivetrain. The first electric machine can be used as a heater element and to provide mechanical power to the drivetrain.

摘要: Methods and systems for a remote transportation system including a first autonomous vehicle, at least one second autonomous vehicle and a remote transportation server are provided. The server includes non-transitory computer readable media and one or more processors configured by programming instructions on the non-transitory computer readable media to: receive a request for tow service from the first vehicle, wherein the request includes a location of the first autonomous vehicle; identify a towing destination for the first autonomous vehicle based on the location of the first autonomous vehicle; perform an initial fault diagnosis to determine a towing type; confirm the towing type with the first autonomous vehicle to be at least one of a ground tow, an aerial tow, and a sensor kit tow; and coordinate towing of the first autonomous vehicle to the towing destination by the at least one second autonomous vehicle based on the towing type.
