摘要: A method for controlling thermal conductivity between two thermal masses includes thermally contacting a first conduction body with a heat source, thermally contacting a second conduction body with a heat sink, and thermally contacting the second conduction body with the first conduction body by moving the first conduction body between a first position and a second position with a thermal expansion component. The thermal expansion component moves the first conduction body between the first position and the second position at a predetermined temperature and heat is conducted from the heat source to the heat sink through the first and second conduction bodies.

摘要: A ball valve includes a housing and has an inlet port, an outlet port and a central ball chamber. A ball member is received within the ball chamber and has a shaft connected to a motor such that the ball member can be rotated. The ball member is movable between a closed position at which it blocks fluid connection between the inlet port and the outlet port and to an open position at which a central passage in the ball member communicates the inlet port to the outlet port. A seal is mounted for movement with the ball member to provide a seal against the housing. A ball valve system is also disclosed.

摘要: Apparatus and associated methods relate to simultaneously pumping and measuring density of an aircraft fuel. The aircraft fuel is pumped by a centrifugal pump having an impeller. A rotational frequency of the impeller is determined while the centrifugal pump is pumping the aircraft fuel. Flow rate of the aircraft fuel through the centrifugal pump is sensed. Pressure of the aircraft fuel is measured at two different points within or across the centrifugal pump or a differential pressure is measured between the two different points while the centrifugal pump is pumping the aircraft fuel. Density of the aircraft fuel is determined based on a head-curve relation characterizing the centrifugal pump. The head-curve relation relates the fuel density to the rotational frequency, the flow rate, and pressures at the two different points or the differential pressure between the two different points.

摘要: Methods and systems for operating internal systems of a vehicle are provided. Aspects include providing a field programmable gate array (FPGA), the FPGA including a communication channel port, wherein the communication channel port is operable to connect to one or more systems through a communication channel, and wherein the FPGA is configured to operate in one or more control modes, receiving a communication channel input to the communication channel port of the FPGA, based at least in part on the communication channel input, determining a control mode from the one or more control modes, and operating the FPGA in the control mode, wherein the control mode is associated with one system of the one or more systems.
