Abstract:
A lighted roll up door assembly may include a roll up door including interconnected slats movable along tracks, and a lighting element configured to be attached to an exterior side of the roll up door. The lighting element can be mounted so as to direct a substantial portion of the light output toward the roll up door and below a horizontal direction so as to light a portion of the door and an adjacent area below the door at least partially by reflection when the door is in a closed position and so as to light an area on an interior side of the roll up door when the door is in a opened position. The lighting element may be mounted to a fixed or movable member attached to a slat of the roll up door.
Abstract:
A roll up door assembly is mountable in two tracks laterally spaced from one another, each track including a catch, the roll up door assembly including a door sized to be mountable and slidable along the tracks between a closed position and an opened position, the door being a roll up door including a plurality of slats extending between the tracks, one of the slats being a locking slat having an outer surface and an inner surface and defining a passage therethrough between the outer surface and the inner surface. A housing is attached to the outer surface of the locking slat, the housing defining an opening therethrough aligned with the passage. A key cylinder extends through the passage and the opening. A two-point latching assembly has two latches for selectively engaging the catches and is rotatably driven by a rear portion of the key cylinder adjacent the inner surface of the locking slat. A fixing member threadedly engages an outer surface of the key cylinder to secure the key cylinder to the housing, the fixing member being annular and being configured with the housing and the locking slat so that the fixing member has an axial length at least as long as a distance between an inner surface of the housing and the outer surface of the locking slat when the fixing member is positioned to secure the key cylinder to the housing.
Abstract:
A multifunction securing mechanism for a compartment closable by a door and includes a key cylinder, a latching assembly which may be a two-point latching assembly movable between a latching and an unlatching position, a rotatable member configured for a lazy-cam function connecting the key cylinder and latching assembly, at least one catch located on a surface adjacent the outside of the door, and a bar pivotally mounted to the outside of the door and movable between a first closed position and a second opened position. A first release mechanism is located on an interior side of the door for changing a positon of the latching assembly, and a second release mechanism is located on the interior side of the door for changing a position of the bar, both for allowing a user to open a latched and secured door from the inside.
Abstract:
A handrail assembly for lighting an adjacent area includes two stanchions for attachment to a surface, each stanchion including mounting structure; a bar for attachment to the stanchions, the bar having two ends and defining mounting structure at the ends; and a lighting element configured to be carried by the bar. The mounting structure of the stanchions and bars cooperate to provide two alternate mounting orientations of the bar within the stanchions. In a first of the orientations the lighting element is offset circumferentially in a first direction relative to a centerline of the stanchions lighting a first adjacent area on a first side of the stanchions. In a second of the orientations the lighting element is offset circumferentially in a second direction opposite the first direction relative to the centerline of the stanchions lighting a second adjacent area on a second side of the stanchions.
