摘要： An end cap for use in a shade assembly in a vehicle. The end cap is capable of folding and includes a base and a linkage pivotally connected to the base. The end cap also includes an extension pivotally connected to the linkage. The folding end cap will allow for the effective length of the end cap to be reduced by pivoting the extension of the end cap in an approximate 180° arc such that it engages and is secured to the base on an outer surface thereof.

摘要： A latch lock out assembly for use with an armrest of a vehicle is disclosed. The latch lock out assembly comprises a flexible body secured to the armrest on an end of the body. The latch lock out assembly also comprises a generally cylindrically shaped blocking member arranged on an end of the body. The blocking member will be used to block the disengagement of a latch from a locking surface when the armrest is in a generally vertical or seat back position but flex or bend to a secondary or disengaged position when the armrest is in a generally horizontal position within the vehicle.

摘要： A breakaway visor for use in a vehicle includes a visor body and a molded tubular member having a first end and a second end wherein the first end is rotatably supported with respect to the roof of a vehicle via a visor mounting bracket. The visor arm also includes an elbow portion arranged a predetermined distance from the first end of the molded tubular member. The visor arm also includes a metal tubular insert member arranged within the molded tubular member. The metal tubular insert member will have a first end within the molded tubular member and arranged a predetermined distance from the first end of the molded tubular member. This first end of the metal tubular insert member will define the break point for the breakaway visor.

摘要： A connector assembly for use with a side airbag having a tearable seam in a vehicle seat is disclosed. The connector assembly includes a clip member having a slot near one end thereof and an inner chute connected to the clip member via the slot. The connector assembly also includes a rod releaseably secured to the clip member. An outer chute is connected to the rod and the seam on the opposite end thereof. The chute will allow for proper guidance of the airbag during deployment from the seat in a crash situation.

摘要： A seam for use in a vehicle armrest or other interior component. The seam includes a first material and a second material joined to the first material. The seam also includes a T-member connected to the first material and the second material to form a French seam appearance on the outer surface of the material. The T-member is then used to align with a groove in a foam of an armrest or other interior component to create an exterior seam on an armrest or interior component of a vehicle. The seam is created using a guide member attached to a sewing machine that will allow for sewing of the first material and second material to the T-member in a simultaneous process at a predetermined speed thus increasing efficiency of manufacturing the upholstery panel and reducing costs to the manufacturer.

摘要： A magnetic switch assembly for an electrical circuit includes a switch housing with a cavity formed therein and at least one magnetically attractable electrical contact member exposed within the cavity. One or more electrically-conductive magnetic pole members are movably disposed within the cavity, with a magnet being secured to the pole members for movement therewith. The pole member or members and the magnet are movable in the cavity between a first position in electrical contact with the contact member in order to complete electrical continuity of the electrical circuit, and a second position spaced away from the contact member in order to break electrical continuity of the electrical circuit. A movable and magnetically attractable striker member is disposed for movement toward and away from the switch housing cavity, such as on a pivotal or hinged accessory cover. The magnetic attraction between the magnet (and pole members) and the striker member moves the pole members and the magnet into the second, circuit-breaking position whenever the striker member is moved within a predetermined distance from the cavity.

摘要： An air bag occupant protection device for use in motor vehicles having an air bag made from a single piece of flat foldable fabric material. The air bag according to this invention is formed by gathering the free edge of a flat piece of sheet stock to define radial pleats at a small opening provided for inflation gases to enter the inside of the bag. Various approaches for gathering the free edge of the material are disclosed including the use of a retaining ring having posts which engage apertures in the free edge of the material, a cord for gathering the free edge, and various other means of gathering the edge and sewing it in place. The invention avoids the cost of fabricating an air bag from multiple pieces of cut fabric and further avoids the failure modes of a fabricated air bag caused by the presence of seams which can constitute a local weakness in the air bag assembly.
