摘要: A method for preparation of a starch-promoted alkyl ketene dimer (AKD) sizing emulsion is provided. The inventive method comprises adding a sizing promoter comprising high-charge cationic starch and polyaluminum chloride (PAC) to a stabilized AKD emulsion and further wherein addition of said sizing promoter comprising high-charge cationic starch and PAC is effected at ambient temperature, after emulsification, stabilization, and homogenization of said stabilized AKD emulsion; and prior to addition of the starch-promoted AKD sizing emulsion to papermaking furnish, pulp, or fiber stock.

摘要: In a water treatment system, a pretreatment chemical is added to water stream in a pretreatment process including a coagulation, flocculation and separation to reduce amount of dissolved and/or particulate matter in the water stream. Hydrophobic conditions in the water stream are monitored upstream or downstream from adding the pretreatment chemicals. Dosing of the pretreatment chemical to the water stream is controlled based on the monitored hydrophobic conditions. Thereby a membrane fouling in subsequent membrane filtration stage can be minimized.

摘要: The invention relates to a method for producing coagulant aluminium salts. Raw material comprising at least one aluminium oxide compound is mixed with a process acid or a base to form a reaction mixture, which is heated to a reaction temperature of at least 100° C. at a reaction pressure. The aluminium oxide compound is allowed to react with the process acid or the base. The aluminium oxide compound is selected from a group consisting of amorphous aluminium oxide, γ-aluminium oxide, η-aluminium oxide, χ-aluminium oxide, or any of their mixtures. The reaction pressure is at least 2 bar(g).

摘要: The invention relates to a method and system for phosphate recovery from a stream such as waste flow, sewage or another sludge stream. The method comprises the steps of: providing an incoming stream comprising an initial amount of phosphate; dosing/controlling iron salt to the stream such that precipitates are formed in the stream, wherein the precipitates comprise vivianite like structures comprising more than 60% of the initial amount of phosphate in the incoming stream, and preferably also the steps of: separating the vivianite like structures from the stream; and recovering the phosphates from the separated vivianite like structures.
