摘要： A display device includes an array of control elements formed on a semiconductor substrate, and an array of reflective-type pixel electrodes stacked over the array of the control elements, so that each of the control elements control a state of reflection of a corresponding one of the pixel electrodes. The array of the pixel electrodes is arranged in rows and columns. In embodiments, the array of the control elements is arranged in a first direction that makes an angle greater than zero and smaller than 90° with the direction of rows, and in a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction. The display device has an array of control elements corresponding to the array of pixel electrodes even when the control elements do not match the pixel electrodes in shape. This invention also provides methods of making the display devices.
