    摘要： A reciprocating piston machine comprising a main piston secured to a piston rod, a cylinder in which the main piston can slide, the main piston and cylinder defining a combustion chamber, a scavenging plate disposed in the combustion chamber and axially movable therein to expel combustion gases from the chamber, at least one subsidiary piston fixed on the piston rod below the main piston and slidable in a cylinder defining pumping chambers by means of which gas can be forced into the combustion chamber above the main piston at superatmospheric pressure, the arrangement being such that movement of the scavenging plate away from the cylinder head is by means of the compressed gas which then forms the fresh charge for introduction into the combustion chamber, the scavenging plate being provided with a one-way valve through which the fresh charge passes to enter the combustion chamber proper.

    摘要： Composition suitable for treating the hair or skin, which conains at least one poly-(quaternary ammonium) polymer having units of the formula: ##STR1## in which A denotes an alkylene, hydroxyalkylene, alkenylene or alkynylene radical;B denotes:(a) --O--Z--O-- in which Z denotes a hydrocarbon radical or a group ##STR2## in which x and 4 denote a number from 1 to 4; (b) a bis-secondary diamine radical;(c) a radical --NH--Y--NH-- in which Y denotes a hydrocarbon radical or the radical --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --S--S--CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --; or(d) a group --NH--CO--NH--;R.sub.1 denotes C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl; R.sub.2 denotes a hydrocarbon radical or two R.sub.2 radicals can complete a radical ##STR3## X denotes a halide; and n is 1 or an integer from 3 to 10. The polymers used in the composition of the invention have a good compatibility with anionic surface-active agents, are degradable and do not accumulate on the hair.

    摘要： A palette, such as for providing one or more choices of a makeup includes a base enclosing a drawer. The drawer includes a pan within a pan compartment. The base has a drawer compartment from which the drawer can slide in and out. The pan is retained in the pan compartment by application of a force that presses on the bottom of the pan, and the top of the pan presses against a frame or lid. The pan is removable from the pan compartment when the drawer is slid out from the base to expose an opening in the pan compartment through which the pan is removed. When the drawer includes a fixed frame on top, the pan can slide out from the front or side of the drawer, and when the drawer includes a lid on top, the pan can be removed from the top of the drawer.
