Abstract: A lipstick cup for securing a lipstick cylinder or bullet, suitable for a soft lipstick formula, having a cylindrical body with a base and a sidewall having axially-arranged ribs distributed substantially evenly around the inner circumference of the sidewall near the base, that extending radially inwardly from the sidewall, and a plurality of shallow undercut structures distributed substantially evenly around the circumference of the sidewall, disposed circumferentially between the pairs of adjacent ribs, and tapering inwardly from the inner surface of the sidewall toward the base to provide an undersurface. The plurality of ribs displace and compress a portion of the material of the lipstick composition circumferentially toward and between the undersurface of the shallow undercut structures, and the base, for preventing the product from being dislodged from the cup.

Abstract: A refill lipstick cartridge that prevents or avoids operation of the dispensing mechanism for the lipstick until the cartridge has been secured into the lower case of a lipstick case. The refill lipstick cartridge has a locked or non-functioning configuration, in which the lipstick cannot be dispensed from the refill lipstick cartridge until the refill lipstick cartridge is installed into the lower case of the lipstick case, and an unlocked or functioning configuration when installed into the lipstick case, in which the dispensing mechanism for the lipstick can function to both extend from the lipstick bullet, and retract the lipstick bullet into, the lipstick case, typically manually under the control of the user of the lipstick product. A locking mechanism that employs either friction or mechanical locking elements is manipulated to position the refill lipstick cartridge between the locked configuration and the unlocked configuration.

Abstract: A refillable compact case having a replaceable cosmetic pan that is inserted through the bottom of the compact case that has a compact base and an attachable compact cover. The compact base has a peripheral body having an inner ledge forming a shaped opening, and a lower wall having a lower rim and an inner wall. The inner ledge and the inner wall form a lower pocket, and the lower rim forms a lower opening. The cosmetic pan fits inside a pan cavity of a base closure, which fits into the lower pocket of the compact base. The base closure has a means for removably engaging with the inner wall of the compact base.
