    Abstract: A display device includes a pixel defining layer, a barrier wall that is disposed on the pixel defining layer and in which a barrier wall opening and a groove spaced apart from the barrier wall opening are defined, a light-emitting element including an anode, an emission pattern, and a cathode that is disposed in the barrier wall opening and that contacts the barrier wall; and a lower encapsulation pattern disposed on the light-emitting element and the barrier wall. The first groove surrounds the barrier wall opening in a plan view. An inner portion of the lower encapsulation pattern is disposed in the barrier wall opening and the groove, and an outer portion of the lower encapsulation pattern defines a spacing region between the barrier wall and the outer portion of the lower encapsulation pattern.

    Abstract: A display device and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. The display device includes: a pixel-circuit layer including a pixel circuit on a substrate; and a light-emitting-element layer on the pixel-circuit layer, wherein the light-emitting-element layer includes: an anode electrode; a pixel defining layer covering at least a portion of the anode electrode, the pixel defining layer forming a pixel defining opening exposing at least a portion of the anode electrode; a light emitting structure electrically connected to the anode electrode; and a cathode electrode electrically connected to the light emitting structure, wherein the pixel defining layer includes a rounded upper surface having a rounded corner, the rounded upper surface including an inclined side surface facing the pixel defining opening, and wherein an angle between the inclined side surface and a top surface of the anode electrode is in a range of 15 degrees to 45 degrees.
