Abstract: Electronic Article Surveillance in which a radio frequency identification (RFID) interrogation signal is transmitted, over a first window of time, into an RFID interrogation zone of the EAS system. A plurality of response signals are detected from a first RFID tag of the EAS system responding to the interrogation signal. Over a second window of time overlapping at least in part with the first window of time, image data is captured within a field of view. The field of view and the RFID interrogation zone overlap to form a zone of interest. Movement of a non-tag object is characterized during the first window of time based on the image data. Whether the first RFID tag is associated with the characterized non-tag object is determined based on a comparison of the detected plurality of response signals and the characterized movement of the non-tag object.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for identifying a person of interest exiting or entering an establishment. In an example, the system may derive a confidence factor that for an individual exiting an establishment based on image recognition and device identification technologies when the individual when a security event, such as an alarm, is set off. The system may also identify an individual entering an establishment as a person of interest based on the confidence score by using the same technologies.

Abstract: An article security device that is selectively removable from an article, the article security device may include a security tag and an elongate member movably connected with the security tag and having an elongate member first end and a elongate member second end. The elongate member may be configured to contain or to be contained by at least a portion of the article. The security device may further include a selectively removable locking member that is configured to connect to the elongate member second end to enable the security device to be selectively removable from the article, wherein the selectively removable locking member includes a locking mechanism having a locked position relative to the elongate member second end and an unlocked position relative to the elongate member second end.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are apparatuses and methods for providing contextual data for a security event in an environment. An implementation may comprise receiving and parsing sensor data from a plurality of sensors located in the environment. The implementation may comprise storing, in a database, the parsed sensor data comprising identifiers of the plurality of objects and the attributes. The implementation may comprise detecting a security event at the environment and determining a type, a time window, and a location of the security event. The implementation may comprise retrieving, from the database, a set of object identifiers with timestamps within the time window and a matching location of the security event. The implementation may comprise filtering, from the set of object identifiers, at least one object identifier that matches the type of the security event, and outputting the at least one object identifier and attributes of the at least one object identifier.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are apparatuses and methods for tracking occupancy count in an environment based on detected movements and dwell time. An implementation may comprise detecting a person in a plurality of image frames captured by a camera. The implementation may comprise tracking a movement of the person and determining that the person has crossed a boundary within the plurality of image frames. The implementation may comprise identifying a path of the person based on the tracked movement and may comprise calculating a dwell time in response to determining that a difference between the identified path and at least one target path associated with entering or exiting the environment exceeds a threshold difference. The implementation may comprise comparing the dwell time to a target dwell time, and updating and storing the occupancy count of the environment in response to determining that the dwell time is less than the target dwell time.

Abstract: Deploying at each transition between separate areas of a facility a plurality of RFID reader antennas. Each antenna is deployed at a given transition covering a span of the given transition from a different perspective such that each point in the span is covered by at least two antennas. The antennas of a first transition between a first area and a second area of the separate areas detect, and in combination with an RFID system in communication with the antennas of the first transition, a tag known to have been in the first area. The RFID system identifies an item associated with the detected tag as moving to the second area. The antennas of a particular transition of the second area subsequently detect, in combination with the RFID system in communication therewith, the tag, and identifying the detected item as leaving the second area for an area across the particular transition.

Abstract: Example aspects include techniques for building a ML model in a use case with prohibitive training data and employing the ML model within the use case. These techniques may include determining training information including a plurality of stray training reads and a plurality of valid training reads, determining modified training information based at least in part on modifying the plurality of valid training reads, and generating a model for distinguishing a valid read from a stray read based on the modified training information and an evolutionary algorithm. In addition, the techniques may include detecting, by a monitoring device, a plurality of tag reads in response to a plurality of interactions between a tag and the monitoring device, and determining, by the monitoring device, a plurality of valid tag reads based on the model and plurality of tag reads.
