摘要: The present invention relates to the high resolution imaging of samples using imaging mass spectrometry (IMS) and to the imaging of biological samples by imaging mass cytometry (IMC™) in which labelling atoms are detected by IMS. LA-ICP-MS (a form of IMS in which the sample is ablated by a laser, the ablated material is then ionised in an inductively coupled plasma before the ions are detected by mass spectrometry) has been used for analysis of various substances, such as mineral analysis of geological samples, analysis of archaeological samples, and imaging of biological substances. However, traditional LA-ICP-MS systems and methods may not provide high resolution. Described herein are methods and systems for high resolution IMS and IMC.

摘要: Systems, devices, and methods for detecting cannabinoids in liquid or gaseous samples. In one aspect, the present invention uses a sensor element and two electrical circuit elements. When the sensor element is in contact with a sample containing cannabinoid, interactions between the sensor element and the cannabinoid changes or affects the sensor element's electrochemical properties. Using the two electrical circuit elements, this change can be detected. An analog signal relating to the changed electrochemical properties can be measured using the two electrical circuit elements. In one implementation, there is provided an organic field effect transistor (OFET) whose signal changes when in contact with a cannabinoid containing sample.

摘要: Methods for modulating lysosome-mediated microautophagy of a lipid or protein substrate in a cell are provided herein. In certain embodiments, said methods may comprise increasing lysosome-mediated microautophagy by treating the cell with a microautophagy-enhancing agent which increases lysosomal association-dissociation events between lysosomes and the cellular lipid or protein substrate and/or increases lysosomal degradation capacity; or decreasing lysosome-mediated microautophagy by treating the cell with a microautophagy-reducing agent which reduces lysosomal association-dissociation events between lysosomes and the cellular lipid or protein substrate and/or decreases lysosomal degradation capacity; thereby modulating lysosome-mediated microautophagy of the lipid or protein substrate.

摘要: A method and apparatus for laser-induced forward transfer (LIFT) processing including a dynamic release mirror structure (DRMS) for desorbing delicate materials from a first surface and depositing a resultant formation of a portion of the materials on a second surface without damaging the material or coating the material with contaminants. The DRMS includes a lower-situated absorbing polymer layer on a transparent substrate. The lower-situated absorbing polymer layer is coated with a metal layer to reflect light of a laser pulse. The metal layer is topped by an upper-situated polymer cap layer. The 3-part layering of the metal layer sandwiched between the upper and lower polymer layers is variable in terms of materials and thickness to tune DRMS operational characteristics.

摘要: The present application provides a hydrodefluorodimerization process, which is useful in the synthesis of, for example, fluoroölefins that can be used as refrigerants, blowers and the like. The process is an “early-stage fluorination” process, wherein precursors containing fluorine are assembled into the desired product using a zerovalent nickel catalyst. Also provided is a liquid composition comprising one or more fluoroölefin produced by this catalytic process.

摘要: Aspects of the present disclosure are directed to the flow of analytes, particles or other materials. As consistent with one or more embodiments described herein, an apparatus includes a membrane having one or more pores in a membrane. First and second electrodes facilitate electrophoretic flow of analytes through the pore, and a third electrode controls movement of the particles in the pore by modulating the shape of an electric double layer adjacent sidewalls of pore. This modulation controls the strength of an electroosmotic field that opposes the electrophoretic flow of the analytes via the pore.
