摘要: A method of migrating a virtual machine (VM) having a virtual disk from a source data center to a destination data center includes generating a snapshot of the VM to create a base disk and a delta disk in which writes to the virtual disk subsequent to the snapshot are recorded, and copying the base disk to a destination data store. The method further includes, in response to a request to migrate the VM, preparing a migration specification at the source and transmitting the migration specification to the destination, the migration specification including a VM identifier and a current content ID of the base disk, and determining that a content ID of the copied base disk matches the current content ID of the base disk included in the migration specification and updating the migration specification to indicate that the base disk does not need to be migrated.

摘要: A method of synchronously executing input/output operations (IOs) for a plurality of applications using a storage device with a file system includes the steps of: receiving a first write IO including an instruction to write first data at a first address of the file system; determining that, within a first range of the file system comprising the first address, there are no pending unmap IOs for deallocating storage space of the storage device from files of the plurality of applications; after determining that there are no pending unmap IOs within the first range, locking the first range to prevent incoming unmap IOs from deallocating storage space within the first range from the files of the plurality of applications; after locking the first range, writing the first data to the storage device at the first address; and after writing the first data, unlocking the first range.

An example apparatus includes at least one memory, instructions in the apparatus, and processor circuitry to at least one of execute or instantiate the instructions to identify an HA slot in a virtual server rack, the HA slot to facilitate a failover of an application executing on a first virtual machine (VM) in the virtual server rack, the first VM identified as a protected VM, deploy a second VM in the HA slot, transfer data from the first VM to the second VM, and, in response to not identifying a failure of at least one of the first or second VMs during the transfer, trigger a shutdown of the first VM, and synchronize migration data associated with the virtual server rack to identify the second VM as the protected VM.

摘要: Examples described herein include systems and methods for fuzz testing low-level virtual devices and virtual devices with DMA write functionality. A fuzz tester includes components distributed across a virtual machine and its host system. The fuzz testing components in the virtual machine are implemented as firmware installed in the virtual machine's ROM. These components operate independent of data stored in the virtual machine's RAM and do not require an operating system to be installed on the virtual machine. As a result, any changes made to the virtual machine's RAM during the fuzzing process by low-level virtual devices or virtual devices with DMA write functionality cannot interrupt the fuzz testing or otherwise negatively impact the fuzz tester itself.

摘要: Some embodiments of the invention provide a novel method of performing network slice-based operations on a data message at a hardware forwarding element (HFE) in a network. For a received data message flow, the method has the HFE identify a network slice associated with the received data message flow. This network slice in some embodiments is associated with a set of operations to be performed on the data message by several network elements, including one or more machines executing on one or more computers in the network. Once the network slice is identified, the method has the HFE process the data message flow based on a rule that applies to data messages associated with the identified slice.

In one implementation, a method includes, in a control plane and data plane of an SDN environment, obtaining a blacklist for a logical port in the SDN environment. The method further includes deleting realized address bindings in a realized address list for the logical port that match the one or more address bindings in the blacklist and preventing subsequent address bindings that match the one or more address bindings in the blacklist from being added to the realized address list.

摘要: Systems and methods are described for providing check-in service that dynamically manages in-person meetings. In an example, the check-in service can receive a meeting request for a meeting of a first user with a second user at a location. The first user can request the meeting using a graphical user interface (“GUI”) or the check-in service can identify a meeting request based on a message sent from the first user to the second user. When the second user visits the location, the check-in service can send the meeting request to a user device of the second user. The second user can respond on the user device by accepting, rejecting, or postponing the meeting request. If postponed, the check-in service can place the meeting request in a queue and resend the meeting request when the second user next visits the location. If accepted, the check-in service can notify the first user.
