    摘要: A graphics processor enhancement system having a processor connected through data and lower address lines to two areas of random access memory (RAM). One area of RAM stores an image frame and the other area of RAM stores a copy of a background section of the image frame. The processor is connected through a read/write line and higher address lines to a programmable logic device (PLD), the output of which functions to enable one of the two areas of RAM. The system also stores a transparent memory map containing a copy of the object surrounded by transparent pixel values. The processor provides an animated display by modifying a portion of the image frame, such that an object stored therein is incremental moved across the image frame. The PLD enables the processor to read the copied background section, overlay this background section with the transparent memory map and write the resulting combination to the image frame over the old object stored therein. The resulting image frame includes the object at a new location.

    摘要: An apparatus for directly determining an outcome of a game which identifies this outcome by displaying a series of indicia that correspond to the outcome. The apparatus includes a random number generator which generates a random number from a predetermined set thereof. The random number is scaled to obtain an outcome identifier from a set of outcome identifiers. The set of outcome identifiers are divided into a plurality of subsets, with each subset corresponding to one win/loss tier. The outcome identifier is evaluated to determine which of the outcomes it corresponds to by identifying the subset, into which it falls. Once the outcome is identified, a corresponding win/loss tier is identified. Each win/loss tier is associated with a unique reel combination table, each of which includes at least one series of indicia to be displayed as a reel combination corresponding to the chosen outcome. Once the win/loss tier is identified, the random number is again scaled to obtain an index into the corresponding reel combination table. The table is accessed and the indexed series of indicia are displayed.

    摘要: A video lottery system for playing electronic games on multiple video lottery terminals. The system includes a central computer at a central site and at least one gaming site remotely located from the central computer. The gaming site includes a plurality of video lottery terminals which play games and generate cash tickets representing an amount won during game play. The terminals are organized into groups, each of which is managed by a site controller connected thereto. The site controllers communicate with one another via a site management ring. A unique communications protocol used on the management ring allows multiple types of logical devices (also called ring devices) to communicate with one another along the ring. Each site controller authorizes terminals within a corresponding group of terminals to generate cash tickets and is capable of validating every cash ticket generated within the video lottery system. The site controllers emulate several logical devices including a cash ticket validation console, a terminal polling device and a ring issuing device. The site controllers and terminals communicate via encrypted messages for security purposes. This encryption system uses multiple encryption and decryption keys at each terminal and site controller. The site controllers perform triple redundancy information storage to ensure the integrity of the ticketing information therein.

    摘要: A transaction document reader reads image data on a transaction document. The image data includes marking areas employed by a user to record marks and includes characters. A sensor senses, one row at a time, rows of image data as the document is transported across the sensor. Each row includes a number of pixel areas. The pixel areas of the rows being aligned in columns. The sensor generates output signals representative of the pixel areas. The output signals are transformed into bit signals representative of each pixel area. The bit signals are stored in image memory which is organized into rows and columns of bit signals corresponding to the rows and columns of the pixel areas of the image data. The marking areas are located in image memory. The marks are identified in the marking areas while additional rows of bit signals are being stored and while other marking areas are being located by probing the bit signals in image memory. A specific area within image memory representative of a single character is also located. A neural network is utilized to recognize the character within specific area.
