摘要: A cover film used together with a pen sensor including a plurality of sensor electrodes, and a sensor controller which detects a position of an active pen in reference to a distribution of signal levels each corresponding to an amount of electric charge induced in an individual one of the plurality of sensor electrodes by a pen signal transmitted from a pen tip electrode disposed at a tip of the active pen. The cover film includes a conductive resin that covers an effective area formed by the sensor electrodes for detection of the position of the active pen and that includes a substantially uniform resistance component at least within a range of the effective area. The cover film is arranged, without via a cover glass, on an upper surface of a sensor electrode group including the plurality of sensor electrodes.

摘要: A position detection method performed using a capacitive touch sensor with line electrodes two-dimensionally arranged. The method includes: acquiring first two-dimensional data indicating a first distribution of detection values of capacitance on the touch sensor; recognizing that a foreign object is present in an area on the touch sensor based on the first two-dimensional data; in response to the recognizing that the foreign object is present in the area on the touch sensor based on the first two-dimensional data, using a first threshold that is lower than a second threshold for detecting a first touch position or touch area inside of the area on the touch sensor in which the foreign object is present; and detecting the first touch position or touch area inside of the area on the touch sensor in which the foreign object is present based on the first two-dimensional data and the first threshold.

摘要: A combination touch and transducer input system is provided, which facilitates user input into an electronic system with a finger and/or a transducer (e.g., a stylus). The system includes a transducer configured to generate an electric field, and a sensor including an array of electrodes and a controller. The transducer is configured to transmit digital data, such as pen pressure data and switch status data, to the sensor. For example, the transducer comprises electronic circuitry configured to encode the digital data in a signal for transmission to the sensor. The sensor controller is configured to operate both in a touch sensing mode and in a transducer sensing mode. During the touch sensing mode, the controller determines a position of a proximate object (e.g., a finger) by capacitively sensing the object with the array of electrodes. During the transducer sensing mode, the controller determines a position of the transducer based on a signal received by the array of electrodes from the transducer, and also receives and decodes the digital data encoded in the received signal. Digital data can be encoded in a signal using any suitable digital modulation techniques, such as a Frequency-Shift Keying (FSK) technique.
