摘要: An expansion joint system for bridging a gap between spaced apart structural members and capable of self-cleaning. The expansion joint system includes first and second base members, at least one upwardly sloped base plate engaged with one of the first and second base members, and at least one substantially horizontal movable plate engaged with at least one of the first and second base members. 摘要: A modular expansion joint system with equidistance control. The modular expansion joint system includes transverse vehicle load bearing members which are positioned in a gap defined between adjacent spaced-apart structural members, support members positioned below the transverse vehicle load bearing members and extending across the expansion joint gap between the adjacent structural members, means positioned within the structural members for controlling movement of the support members, and means for controlling the spacing between the transverse vehicle load bearing members. The means for controlling the distance between the transverse vehicle load bearing members comprises a non-elastomeric compressive member, such as at least one coil spring which, which according to certain illustrative embodiments, maintains a substantially equal distance between transverse vehicle load bearing members.

摘要: An expansion joint system for bridging an expansion joint gap between two spaced-apart, underlying building or roadway structures. The expansion joint system includes a cover plate, at least one swing arm, sliding bearings engaged with the swing arms, and fasteners for engaging the swing arms to the cover plate. The swing arms include a receiving well configured for receiving a mechanical fastener to fasten the swing arms to the cover plate. The expansion joint system permits movement in response to a seismic or thermal event that causes expansion or contraction of the gap between structural members while maintaining coverage of the gap, and following a seismic or thermal event, the maintains a substantially-centered position of the cover plate.

摘要: An expansion joint sealing system for bridging and sealing a gap located between two spaced-apart structural deck members. The expansion joint sealing system includes an elastomeric seal member and a substantially rigid plate member. The elastomeric seal member is fixedly attached to an underlying structural deck member and is able to expand and contract in the longitudinal direction in relation to the traffic direction across the expansion joint. The rigid plate is not fastened to the elastomeric seal member with mechanical fasteners or other fastening means, but is slidingly engaged with the elastomeric seal member through an elongated guide member. As the rigid plate member is not fastened to the elastomeric seal member, it is able to move along a guide member in a direction that is transverse to the direction of traffic across the expansion joint.

摘要: An expansion joint system for bridging a gap between spaced apart structural members and for accommodating transverse movement. The expansion joint system includes a plurality of finger plates carrying a plurality of elongated fingers that are configured to at least partially extend across an expansion joint gap from opposing structural members. The finger plates are pivotably mounted to the underlying structural members to permit pivoting or rotating movement in the transverse direction. A torsion spring is engaged with the pivotable finger plates and provides a restoring force to the finger plate when the finger plate rotates relative to the spring. Also disclosed is an expansion joint including spaced-apart structural members and the expansion joint system installed in the joint. The elongated fingers of the finger plates of the expansion joint system extend at least partially across the expansion joint gap from a first structural member and are interdigitated with elongated fingers extending from a opposing second structural member to provide a surface to traverse the expansion joint gap.
