摘要: A set control composition for cementitious systems comprises (a) an amine-glyoxylic acid condensate, and (b) at least one of (i) a borate source and (ii) a carbonate source. The carbonate source is selected from inorganic carbonates having an aqueous solubility of 0.1 gL−1 or more, and organic carbonates. The set control composition improves workability of cementitious systems for prolonged periods of time without compromising early compressive strength. Due to the retarding action of the set control composition, the dosage of dispersant(s) necessary to obtain a desired flowability of the cementitious system can be reduced.

摘要: A method for amplification of nucleic acids in which substantially use is made of the fact that a pre-defined nucleic acid chain (target sequence) can be multiplied/amplified in the presence of a target sequence-specific activator oligonucleotide. The target sequence-specific activator oligonucleotide causes the separation of re-synthesized complementary primer extension products by strand displacement, so that a new primer oligonucleotide can attach to the respective template strand. The thus formed complex of a primer oligonucleotide and a template strand can initiate a new primer extension reaction. The thus formed primer extension products in turn function as templates, so that an exponential amplification reaction results. Amplification of a particular target sequence takes place more efficiently in case of perfect match complementary base pair formation between the activator oligonucleotide and the corresponding target sequence. Mismatches between the activator oligonucleotide and a particular target sequence can result in less efficient amplification. The efficiency of synthesis of perfect match target sequences and mismatch sequences can be measured and compared.

摘要: Polyamide foams which do not propagate fire are obtained by mixing (i) a liquid isocyanate component which comprises at least one polyisocyanate and in which the molar ratio of aromatic isocyanate groups to the sum of aromatic and aliphatic isocyanate groups is at least 60 mol %, with (ii) at least one liquid isocyanatereactive component which comprises a reactive diluent, and the reactive diluent 10 comprises (a) a chain-extending and/or crosslinking reactive diluent selected from among aliphatic branched C24-66-polycarboxylic acids, alicyclic C24-66-polycarboxylic acids and partial esters of polycarboxylic acids having at least two unesterified carboxyl groups and/or (b) a chain-terminating reactive diluent selected from among aliphatic branched C24-66-monocarboxylic acids, alicyclic C24-66-monocarboxylic acids and partial esters of polycarboxylic acids having one unesterified carboxyl group, wherein the liquid isocyanate-reactive component comprises an aromatic C8-18-polycarboxylic acid and/or an anhydride thereof.

摘要: A method for detecting an open-phase condition of a transformer having a grounded-wye high voltage side connection including monitoring current flowing in a neutral connection on the high voltage side of the transformer in real time by voltage relaying and current relaying to identify an open phase condition signature in a signal capable of characterizing change of current magnitude. A current signal may be injected onto the neutral terminal and the zero-sequence mode of the transformer monitored to detect an open-phase condition indicated by an increase in network impedance and decrease or elimination of the injection current.
