摘要: An implantable medical device charging apparatus includes a charging circuit. The charging circuit includes a series resonator responsive to a signal applied to the charging circuit. During operation, the series resonator inductively couples to a secondary coil within an implantable medical device to transfer energy to the secondary coil. The charging circuit also includes a parallel resonator coupled to the series resonator. The parallel resonator filters a first component of the signal from propagating to the series resonator.

摘要: In an embodiment, a lead system includes a cuff electrode to secure to a nerve, a first lead portion defining a longitudinal axis, and a second lead portion. An anchor may be between the first lead portion and the second lead portion to secure to non-nerve structure. A connector may extend from the second lead portion to connect to a pulse generator. Electrode elements are spaced apart along the cuff body. The cuff electrode may include a first resilient arcuate-shaped portion extending in a first circumferential direction and having a first arc length; and a second resilient arcuate-shaped portion integrally formed with the first arcuate-shaped portion, extending in a second circumferential direction, and having a second arm length greater that the first arc length. The second arcuate-shaped portion overlaps the first arcuate-shaped portion, The first and second arcuate-shaped portions define a lumen having a substantially re-closable opening.

摘要: An implantable device for providing electrical stimulation of cervical vagus nerves for treatment of chronic cardiac dysfunction with leadless heart rate monitoring is provided. A stimulation therapy lead includes helical electrodes configured to conform to an outer diameter of a cervical vagus nerve sheath, and a set of connector pins electrically connected to the helical electrodes. A neurostimulator includes an electrical receptacle into which the connector pins are securely and electrically coupled. The neurostimulator also includes a pulse generator configured to therapeutically stimulate the vagus nerve through the helical electrodes in alternating cycles of stimuli application and stimuli inhibition that are tuned to both efferently activate the heart's intrinsic nervous system and afferently activate the patient's central reflexes by triggering bi-directional action potentials. Finally, the neurostimulator includes an integrated leadless heart rate sensor configured to sense heart rate and to record the sensed heart rate as data into a memory.

摘要: Systems and methods of monitoring a subject's neurological condition are provided. In some embodiments, the method includes the steps of analyzing a physiological signal (such as an EEG) from a subject to determine if the subject is in a contra-ictal condition; and if the subject is in a contra-ictal condition, providing an indication (e.g., to the subject and/or to a caregiver) that the subject is in the contra-ictal condition. The systems and methods may utilize a minimally invasive, leadless device to monitor the subject's condition. In some embodiments, if the subject is in a pro-ictal condition, the method includes the step of providing an indication (such as a red light) that the subject is in the pro-ictal condition.

摘要: A helical electrode for nerve stimulation includes an insulative helical substrate, having an inner surface, configured to wrap around a nerve. An electrical conductor is disposed upon the inner surface of the substrate. The conductor defines a helix of about one revolution and produces an electric field in which an injected current in similar axons varies by no more than about 25%. The conductor may include tapered end sections, which may be counter-tapered.
