    摘要: A system and method for obstacle avoidance during hydrocarbon operations utilizing a non-vertical conduit between a vessel and associated subsea equipment. The system comprises a vessel and a conduit connected to the vessel with a first rotatable apparatus which is constructed and arranged to permit the vessel to rotate with respect to the conduit. The system also comprises a second rotatable apparatus connecting the conduit to subsea equipment secured to the seafloor. The second rotatable apparatus is constructed and arranged to permit the conduit to rotate with respect to the subsea equipment.

    摘要: A modified paraffinic froth treatment (PFT) process is described, in which a fine tailings stream obtained from a water extraction process practiced on oil sands is added during the treatment process. This modified process may be useful as a treatment for the fine tailings stream, allowing for the flocculation of the fines, thus reducing the volume of such fine tailings. The modified process may also be useful in that the fine tailings stream can be used as a supplement or a replacement for dilution water, thus eliminating or reducing the need for dilution water in the PFT process.

    摘要: A suction caisson system comprising a caisson body comprising an upper rim, a lower rim, and a weakened section positioned between the upper rim and the lower rim. The system further comprises a caisson cover constructed and arranged to detachably connect to the upper rim of the caisson body as well as a pump constructed and arranged to provide fluid to and from the interior of the caisson body. In the event the caisson body is impacted by an advancing ice keel, or other foreign object, the caisson body will be sheared at the weakened cross-section, thus protecting any subsea equipment positioned within the caisson body below the weakened section.

    摘要: The present disclosure provides a system and method for inferring one or more physical property parameters of a subsurface media by inverting converted wave data acquired during a seismic survey. Composite seismic traces are generated at a plurality of survey azimuths (step 609). These composite traces are composed such that their amplitudes are free of effects of subsurface anisotropy. At least one of the generated composite seismic traces is then inverted by isotropic inversion to determine a property parameter of the subsurface media (step 623).
