摘要: A shuttle, vial and injector are provided for storing and presenting an IOL to a patient. The shuttle includes operably engaged shuttle plates having a set of confronting surfaces that flex about a flexure interface between a storage configuration, with at least an optic of an IOL in a nominal state and a loading configuration, with at least an optic of an IOL in a deformed state. The vial engages the shuttle and maintains the shuttle in the storage configuration. The injector receives the shuttle from the vial and includes surfaces for flexing the portions of the shuttle plates to the loading configuration upon engagement with the injector, wherein the shuttle plates impart a predetermined curvature to at least a portion of the IOL.

摘要: A detector system for Fourier spectroscopy such as a spectral domain optical coherence tomography instrument includes a diffractive optic for diffracting the interfering light into angularly dispersed wavenumbers, a prism for reduces a nonlinear angular dispersion among the wavenumbers, and a focusing optic for converting the angularly dispersed wavenumbers from the prism into spatially distributed wavenumbers along a detector having an array of pixels. A field lens between the focusing optic and the detector has a freeform surface for more evenly distributing the wavenumbers along the array of pixels.

摘要: An imaging apparatus includes an in-coupling diffractive optic directs image-bearing light beams into a planar waveguide, an out-coupling diffractive optic directs the image-bearing light beams from the waveguide toward a viewer eyebox, and a turning diffractive optic directs the image-bearing light beams along the waveguide between the in-coupling and out-coupling diffractive optics. The grating vectors of the in-coupling and out-coupling diffractive optics differ in magnitude and orientation while the grating vectors of all three diffractive optics sum to substantially zero. The turning diffractive optic is further arranged to preserve a desired angular relationship of the propagating image bearing beams within the waveguide.

摘要: An imaging apparatus for conveying a virtual image including a waveguide having first and second surfaces. An in-coupling diffractive optic and an out-coupling diffractive optic arranged along one of the first and second surfaces, wherein the in-coupling diffractive optic is operable to direct image-bearing light beams into the waveguide for propagation by total internal reflection, and wherein the out-coupling diffractive optic is operable to direct at least a portion of the image-bearing light beams from the waveguide through the second surface toward an eyebox. An at least partially transparent outer cover located adjacent to the first surface, and a circular polarizer arranged between the waveguide and the outer cover, wherein the circular polarizer is operable to circularly polarize at least a portion of image-bearing light beams transmitted through the first surface and to prevent at least a portion of image-bearing light beams transmitted through the first surface from reentering the waveguide as a result of reflection from the outer cover.

摘要: An improved propeller system is disclosed, including at least one resilient component configured with a mounting arrangement of a propeller of the propeller system. The resilient component is made of a resilient material that allows the propeller to tilt about a tethering axis under conditions of differential lift force on blades of the propeller under an advancing condition and a retreating condition. The resilient component includes a pair of cutouts for locating inserts made of a rigid material and positioned with a longitudinal axis of the inserts oriented in radial direction. The orientation of the inserts results in a radially oriented line contact between the propeller and the inserts to ensure that tilting of the propeller is about longitudinal axis of the inserts, defining the tethering axis of the propeller system.
