摘要: An end effector is removably connected to a robot arm under sterile conditions with an arm mount module configured to be connected to the robot arm, and an arm drape module configured to be removably connected to the arm mount module by a first locking mechanism. A third module may be configured to be removably connected to the arm drape module by a second locking mechanism. A sterile hand drape module may be configured to be removably connected to the arm drape module by the second locking mechanism; and a hand mount module may be configured to be removably connected to the hand drape module by a third locking mechanism, and to be connected to the end effector or the hand mount module is the end effector itself. A transmission pathway for signals, electrical energy, or mechanical energy is provided between the robot arm and the end effector.

摘要: A bone fracture fixation system including reference pins inserted into bone fragments of a patient in a first configuration and an image capture device configured to capture an image of the reference pins, and the bone fragments. The system includes a processor configured to receive and pre-process the captured image data. The processor pre-processes the image data by virtually re-positioning the reference pins in the first configuration into a second configuration, wherein the re-positioning virtually re-positions the bone fragments into normal alignment; and virtually generating a support device. The system includes a point-of-care production apparatus that produces a three-dimensional model of the virtually generated support device in a form that can be applied to the patient. The three-dimensional support device generated by the point-of-care production apparatus is configured to receive the reference pins in the first configuration; and simultaneously re-positions and fixes the bone fragments into normal alignment.

摘要: A system for penetrating the lateral cortex of a long bone includes a tubular cortex penetrator having an inner surface and an outer surface, a proximal end, and a distal end comprising a beveled cutting edge configured to penetrate the lateral cortex. A guide wire is configured to pass over the tubular cortex penetrator, and a guide sleeve is configured to surround the outer surface of the tubular cortex penetrator. A hollow extraction screw with an axial bore, a proximal end, a distal end, and a threaded cutting edge is configured to pass through the axial bore of the hollow extraction screw; and the hollow extraction screw is configured to retract into a distal end of a bore through the tubular cortex penetrator.

摘要: A microfluidic device is useful for modelling drug transmission across the vasculature and vascular barriers. The device includes a frame, a fluid-permeable lumen configured to carry a fluid through the frame in a first direction, a first chamber surrounding the lumen, and a second chamber surrounding the first fluid-permeable chamber. At least one surface of the first chamber is configured for deposition of a first population of endothelial cells. An outer surface of the second chamber is configured for deposition a second population of cells. The second chamber is configured to carry a fluid through the frame in a second direction. The fluid-permeable lumen is configured to allow the fluid to permeate through a wall of the lumen into the first chamber, and the first chamber and the second chamber are in fluid communication with each other.
