摘要: Methods and systems for generating haptic feel torque for a steering system for an automotive vehicle are provided. In an exemplary embodiment, a method for generating haptic feel torque for a steering system for an automotive vehicle includes inputting a steering command signal by manipulating a steering wheel mounted to a steering column of the automotive vehicle. In response to the steering command, the method includes changing an orientation of road wheels of the automotive vehicle. Also, the method includes communicating condition data of the road wheels to a controller. Further, the method includes calculating with the controller a turning acceleration of the steering column in response to changing the orientation of the road wheels by modeling a virtual spring and a virtual damper interconnected between the steering column and the road wheels based on the condition data. The method also includes applying the turning acceleration to the steering column.

摘要: A device for delivering fluid to a user includes a housing, a drive motor assembly in the housing, a force sensor, and an electronics module. The drive motor assembly regulates delivery of fluid by actuating a piston of a fluid reservoir, and the force sensor generates output levels in response to force imparted thereto during, for example, fluid delivery operations. The electronics module processes the output levels of the force sensor to assess the operating health of the force sensor, to check for occlusions in the fluid delivery path, and to monitor the seating status of the fluid reservoir.

摘要: A controller for an insulin infusion device includes at least one processor device and at least one memory element that cooperate to provide a processor-implemented closed-loop start-up module. The start-up module is operated to initiate a closed-loop mode of the infusion device and to obtain a most recent sensor glucose value for the user. The start-up module also calculates a difference between the most recent sensor glucose value and a target glucose setpoint value. When the difference is less than or equal to a threshold value, the closed-loop insulin infusion rate is adjusted over time, based on a fixed final target glucose value that is derived from the target glucose setpoint value. When the difference is greater than the threshold, the infusion rate is adjusted over time, based on a dynamic final target glucose value that decreases over time toward the target glucose setpoint value.

摘要: An aircraft panel with a laminate structure is provided that comprises a stack of a plurality of metal sheet layers, at least one fiber reinforced adhesive layer, and at least one cover segment. At least one outer layer of the metal sheet layers comprises at least two separate metal sheets that overlap with each other along their respective commonly adjoining edges, providing an overlapping joint of the two separate metal sheets. The at least one fiber reinforced adhesive layer comprises fiber elements embedded in a matrix structure. One of the at least one fiber reinforced adhesive layers is arranged between two adjacent metal sheet layers. Further, the at least one cover segment is arranged on an outside surface of the laminate structure, the cover segment covering a region of the overlapping joint. Still further, the at least one cover segment comprises at least one layer of reinforcement fibers.

摘要: A chopper drum module and sugarcane harvester vehicle include a module frame distinct from a chassis of the sugarcane harvester having first and second drum bores on each side of the module. The first and second drum bores support, respectively, first and second chopper drums for parallel rotation. A plurality of mounting devices may be attached to the module frame or the chassis, wherein when the mounting devices are in an engaged state the module frame is secured to the chassis by the mounting devices such that the chopper drums receive sugarcane from a feed mechanism supported by the chassis. When the mounting devices are in a disengaged state, the module frame and the chopper drums may be collectively removable from the chassis and the sugarcane harvester.

摘要: A gas turbine engine includes a combustor having a combustor air inlet, an axial-centrifugal compressor, a shroud, a secondary flow duct, and a valve. The shroud surrounds at least a portion of the axial-centrifugal compressor and has a surge bleed plenum defined therein that is in fluid communication with, and receives compressed air from, the axial compressor outlet. The secondary airflow duct has a duct inlet that is in fluid communication with the surge bleed plenum, and a duct outlet that is in fluid communication with the combustor air inlet. The valve is mounted on the secondary airflow duct and is movable between a closed position, in which the secondary airflow duct does not provide fluid communication between the surge bleed plenum and the combustor air inlet, and an open position, in which the secondary airflow duct provides fluid communication between the surge bleed plenum and the combustor air inlet.

摘要: A fluid infusion device includes a fluid pump mechanism having a rotor and a stator. The rotor includes an optically detectable feature, a reference surface, and a cam element rising from the reference surface. The stator includes a cam element having a stator cam surface. The cam elements cooperate to axially displace the rotor as a function of angular position of the rotor, wherein the detectable feature rotates and axially translates as a function of angular position of the rotor. A biasing element provides force to urge the rotor cam element toward the stator cam element and toward the reference surface. A drive motor actuates the rotor to pump medication fluid from a fluid cartridge module to a body, via a subcutaneous conduit. An optical detection circuit interrogates the detectable feature during operation of the fluid pump mechanism to determine an operating condition of the fluid pump mechanism.

摘要: An elongated hollow optical waveguide (1) is described, as can be used in particular in a photobioreactor for supplying phototrophic organisms both with light and with nutrients. The optical waveguide (1) has a casing (3) made from transparent plastic, which surrounds a hollow core (5). The hollow core has a diameter of at least 1 mm, preferably at least 3 mm or at least 1 cm. A plurality of openings (7) with a diameter of at least 0.5 mm, preferably at least 1 mm, is constructed in the casing (3). Light can propagate through the transparent casing and preferably exit laterally (19) along the entire optical waveguide (1). Nutrients (15) can be conveyed through the hollow core (5) into the interior of the photobioreactor. Conversely, portions of the solution, to which organisms have been added, can also be sucked through the hollow core (5), for example in order to analyze the same.
