摘要: An electric drive system for a three-phase PM electric machine. The drive system includes a split stator winding for each phase of the machine including a first winding section and a second winding section, and an inverter circuit including a pair of inverter switches for each phase, where the pair of inverter switches for each phase is electrically coupled to the first and second winding sections for that phase in the stator. The drive system also includes a switching system including a switch circuit, where the switch circuit includes a plurality of switch assemblies for switching between a full winding control mode and a half winding control mode, where each switch assembly includes a first AC switching device and a second AC switching device, and where each switch assembly is electrically coupled to the pair of inverter switches and the first and second winding sections for a particular phase.

摘要: A field effect transistor (FET) including a substrate, a plurality of semiconductor epitaxial layers deposited on the substrate, and a heavily doped gate layer deposited on the semiconductor layers. The FET also includes a plurality of castellation structures formed on the heavily doped gate layer and being spaced apart from each other, where each castellation structure includes at least one channel layer. A gate metal is deposited on the castellation structures and between the castellation structures to be in direct electrical contact with the heavily doped gate layer. A voltage potential applied to the gate metal structure modulates the at least one channel layer in each castellation structure from an upper, lower and side direction.

摘要: A sensor for detecting leaked cooling fluid in a battery pack or container. The sensor is part of a sensor wire, where one end of the wire is electrically coupled to the positive terminal or the negative terminal of the battery pack and the other end of the wire is positioned at a location where the leaked cooling fluid may accumulate. A fault isolation detection circuit monitors a voltage output from the sensor and determines that there is a cooling fluid leak if the measured voltage potential is greater than a predetermined voltage threshold.

摘要: A method for providing vehicle steering control through a curve in an autonomously driven or semi-autonomously driven vehicle that is towing a trailer. The method determines that the trailer will cross out of the travel lane based on the curvature of the curve and the turn radius of the trailer. The method calculates a start turn radius of the vehicle for a start location of the curve, an end turn radius of the vehicle for an end location of the curve, and a turn end point proximate the end location or a turn start point proximate the start location. The method provides initial and boundary conditions for determining a desired path of the vehicle through the curve that prevents the trailer from crossing out of the lane and determines the desired path based on the initial and boundary conditions by solving a polynomial equation.

摘要: A system and method for applying coatings to an object in a spray booth. The system and method include at least one robot that is operable to spray a coating on the object and at least one robot that includes a non-contact metrology sensor that is capable of measuring the object to determine the exact location of the object and the exact shape of the object. The sensor is also capable of measuring the thickness of the coating as it is sprayed on the object. The system and method further include a computing subsystem that is programmed to receive the measurements from the non-contact metrology sensor, where the measurements are used to determine spray paths and to adjust the spray paths for the at least one robot that is operable to spray the coating such that the object is sprayed with a coating that is within predetermined coating thickness tolerances.

摘要: A LiDAR sensor having particular application for use on a vehicle. The LiDAR sensor includes a plurality of spaced apart VCSEL arrays each including a single lens, where the lens for each VCSEL array directs the beam of the particular laser in the array that is illuminated in a desired direction so that turning on and off of the lasers in each array creates a scanning effect. The number and the size of the VCSEL arrays are selected to provide the desired FOV for the sensor, where the VCSEL arrays can be positioned on a curved platform to provide that FOV. The sensor also includes one or more detectors for detecting reflections of the laser beams emitted by the lasers. Control electronics are provided to scan the laser beams and generate a three-dimensional point cloud of return image points.

摘要: A cellular radio architecture that includes an RF transmitter having a digital signal processor, a digital-to-analog converter (DAC) module that converts digital bits from the processor to an analog signal, a tunable bandpass filter that removes frequencies in the analog signal outside of a frequency band of interest, and a power amplifier that amplifies the filtered analog signal. The architecture also includes a calibration feedback device that receives the amplified analog signal and provides a feedback signal to the processor for calibrating the digital signal to provide amplified amplifier pre-distortion. The processor employs a noise-shaping operation to shape the analog signal from the DAC to remove quantization noise in an immediate vicinity of the signal to improve signal-to-noise ratio, performs an infinite impulse response process to lower a noise floor in the analog signal, and provides pre-distortion of the digital signal to compensate for non-linearties of the power amplifier.
