摘要： A trim plate is disclosed that includes a base plate, a folding hook arm pivotally attached to the base plate, and a weight-bearing truss that supports the folding hook arm. A first end of the weight bearing truss is pivotally connected to the hook arm at about the middle of the hook arm and the second end of the truss is positioned in a primary slot in the base plate. Two secondary slots in the base plate are positioned on either side of the primary slot, and pins extend perpendicularly from the base plate end of the truss and fit in the secondary slots for sliding therein whenever the hook arm is open or closed.

摘要： A controlled release and self-resealing vessel assembly for high pressure, microwave assisted chemistry is disclosed. The vessel assembly includes a cylindrical reaction vessel formed of a material that is substantially transparent to microwave radiation. The vessel has angular walls, one closed end for retaining reactants in the lower portions of the vessel, and one open end that defines a mouth for the vessel. The mouth of the cylinder vessel has a lip that is beveled inwardly from the open end. A microwave-transparent solid floating plug closes the mouth of the reaction vessel; with the plug have a frustum portion for engaging the beveled lip when the plug is placed in the mouth of the vessel. A lid exerts a defined axial force against the plug for sealing the plug in the open end of the cylinder with the frustum engaging the lip.

摘要： A jig for profiling the end of an elongate workpiece, especially a coping or crown molding section, comprises a support for a sample to be copied, and for a profiling comb to be pushed against the sample to define a cam surface. A cutting tool can be mounted to follow a path defined by the cam surface, to cut the workpiece end to match the shape of the cam surface. The profiling comb is movable between a first position facing the sample support to form a profile and a second position in which the profile can contact the cam follower on the movable mounting. In its second position the comb extends at an acute angle to the longitudinal direction of the workpiece support, which is configured to support the workpiece at an acute angle about its longitudinal axis corresponding to the angle at which the comb is fixed.

摘要： A dye binding method for protein analysis is disclosed. The method includes the steps of preparing an initial reference dye solution of unknown concentration from an initial reference dye concentrate and creating an electronic signal based upon the absorbance of the initial reference dye solution. Thereafter, an electronic signal is created based upon the absorbance of a dye filtrate solution prepared from the initial reference dye solution and an initial protein sample. The absorbance signals from the reference dye solution and the dye filtrate solution are sent to a processor that compares the respective absorbances and calculates the protein content of the protein sample based upon the difference between the absorbances. An electronic signal is created based upon the absorbance of a successive dye filtrate solution prepared from the reference dye solution and a successive protein sample, and the absorbance signal from the successive sample dye filtrate solution is sent to the processor to calculate the protein content of the successive sample based upon the difference between the absorbance of the initial reference dye solution and the absorbance of the successive dye filtrate solution.

摘要： A modular hip implant is disclosed that includes a base member that is to be attached to a pelvic bone, and a cup for accommodating a hip joint prosthesis. The base member is provided with fasteners for mounting the base member on the pelvic bone as well as a concave accommodation portion for the cup. The cup has a convex outer shape which is complementary to the accommodation portion such that the radii of curvature determining the concave accommodation portion and the convex outer form essentially correspond to each other and the cup can be attached within the base member. The base member and/or the cup include adjustment means for adjusting the position of the cup relative to the base member. The invention allows the inclination and anteversion to be adjusted by arranging the cup in the base.

The method includes mixing a binding dye composition and a protein sample using a homogenizer, measuring a parameter selected from the group consisting of the speed of the homogenizer and the resistance of the mixture to the homogenizer, adjusting the speed of the homogenizer based upon the measured parameter, pumping unreacted dye composition from the mixture and to a calorimeter, and measuring the absorbance of the dye composition in the calorimeter. Aspects of the invention also include inserting a spout into a sample cup at a position where the spout opening is positioned to avoid foam and precipitate generated by the mixing step and above the bottom of the sample cup and thereafter pumping the dye composition from the mixture in the sample cup through the spout and to a colorimeter.
