    摘要: An entangled quantum state receiver includes an optical detector that generates an electrical signal having a signal characteristic in response to detection of a single photon. A first electrical circuit generates an electrical signal having a predetermined duration at an output when the signal characteristic is present. A clock generates a clock with a period, wherein the predetermined duration is greater than the period. A second electrical circuit generates and stores a state or a time in a memory location, where the state has a first state value when the electrical signal having the predetermined duration is present during a clock cycle and has a second state value when the electrical signal having the predetermined duration is not present during the clock cycle. A processor determines received entangled state information from the state value stored in the memory location or from time stored in the memory location.

    摘要: A shaving and grooming apparatus includes a handle and a cartridge attached to the handle. A plurality of upper blades are positioned in the cartridge, where at least some of the plurality of upper blades include curved tips with a curvature that sufficient to prevent the curved tips from contact a cutting surface during use. A plurality of lower blades is positioned adjacent to the plurality of upper blades in the cartridge, where at least some of the plurality of lower blades comprises curved tips with a curvature that sufficient to prevent the curved tips from contact a cutting surface during cutting. At least one of the plurality of upper and the plurality of lower blades has a thickness and flexibility that results in deflection during cutting that increases effectiveness of cutting action. A drive motor moves the plurality of upper blades relative to the plurality of lower blades.

    摘要: A remote fire detection system includes a plurality of sensor nodes, each comprising a smoke sensor, a temperature sensor, a gas sensor, and a processor having inputs coupled to the outputs of the sensors. The processor processes the sensor signals to generate at least one of smoke, temperature, or gas metric information, and determines a unique time window within a reporting period. A transmitter transmits report generated by the processor during the unique time window within the reporting period. A personnel node includes a location processor that generates location information of the personnel node and a transmitter that transmits the location information. A gateway node includes a receiver that receives reports generated by the plurality of sensor nodes during the unique time window within the reporting period. A processor generates a waveform comprising synchronization pulses during the reporting period and processing the received reports generated by the plurality of sensor nodes to generate an uplink message in response to the at least some of the sensor metric information. A transmitter transmits the waveform and the uplink message. A server node receives the uplink message and determines a probability of a fire at a location based on sensor metric information of the received uplink message.

    摘要: A photonically-sampled electronically-quantized analog-to-digital converter generates an optical signal comprising a series of optical pulses. The optical signal is split into a first and a second optical path. The split optical signal is detected in the first path and then the detected optical signal is converted to a reference digital signal. The split optical signal in the second path is modulated with an input RF signal and a plurality of demultiplexed RF-modulated optically-sampled signals is generated from the modulated optical signal. The plurality of demultiplexed RF-modulated optically-sampled signals is then pulse broadened, detected, and converted to a plurality of sampled-RF digital signals. The reference digital signal and the plurality of sampled-RF digital signals are digital signal processed to generate a digital representation of the input RF signal.

    摘要: Described herein is a wavelength selective switch (WSS) type optical switching device (1) configured for switching input optical beams from input optical fiber ports (3, 5 and 7) to an output optical fiber port (9). Device (1) includes a wavelength dispersive grism element (13) for spatially dispersing the individual wavelength channels from an input optical beam in the direction of a second axis (y-axis). The optical beams propagate from input ports (3, 5 and 7) in a forward direction and are reflected from a liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) device (11) in a return direction to output port (9). The input optical beams are transmitted through a port selecting module (21), which provides polarization diversity to device (1) and provides capability to restrict optical beams returning from LCOS device (11) from being coupled back into input ports (3, 5 and 7).
