    摘要: A valve timing controller is provided with a first rotary element that rotates in response to the movement of a crankshaft, a second rotary element that rotates in response to the movement of a camshaft. A link mechanism changes a relative rotation phase between the first and second rotary elements. The first and second rotary elements include introduction passages that introduce a lubricating fluid in the first rotary element. In the link mechanism, shafts are fitted in the links. The links relatively rotate with respect to the shaft, and include conveying passages to communicate with the introduction passages and convey the lubricating fluid from the introduction passages to the circumference of the shaft.

    摘要: An effective range of urging force of an assist spring is between a maximum retarded phase and a predetermined phase of a camshaft, a vane rotor and vanes. The predetermined phase is equal to an intermediate locking phase of the camshaft, the rotor and the vanes+10 degree CA. Even when oil pressure supplied to each advancing chamber is reduced at the time of engine stop, the camshaft, the rotor and the vanes can be advanced to or beyond the intermediate phase by the spring. Furthermore, at the time of engine start, the rotor and the vanes are positioned near the intermediate phase, so that reaction force of the spring is very small, allowing easy movement of the rotor with drive torque of the camshaft toward a retard side. Thus, the rotor can be locked at the intermediate phase by a lock pin.

    摘要: A cam has a profile variable from a high lift curve to a low lift curve in an axial direction. A driving mechanism shifts a cam shaft in the axial direction. A phase adjusting mechanism adjusts the rotational phase of the cam shaft relative to a driving shaft of the internal combustion engine. Angle detecting teeth are shift detecting teeth are alternately arranged on a same cylindrical surface of the cam shaft. Each shift detecting tooth incline at a predetermined angle with respect to an axis of the cam shaft so as to provide angularly advanced and retarded portions in a rotational direction of the cam shaft. A pickup generates sensing signals responsive to the angle detecting teeth and the shift detecting teeth. The sensor faces the angularly advanced portion of the shift detecting tooth when the low lift curve of the cam is selected and faces the angularly retarded portion of the shift detecting tooth when the high lift curve of the cam is selected.

    摘要: An electrical connector includes contacts to be connected to lead wires and a housing having apertures for receiving the contacts. The lead wires are connected to the contacts when the contacts are forced into the apertures of the housing. Each of the contacts comprises at one end a contact element to be in contact with an external terminal and at the other end a connection portion formed with a lead aperture through which a lead wire passes and with a slit continuous with the lead aperture. Edges of the slit pierce into an insulating coating of the lead wire and connect with a core of the lead wire under pressure. The housing is formed with through-apertures through each of which the contact element of each of the contacts extends and with receiving apertures each for receiving the lead wire under a condition that the edges of the slit of the connection portion of the contact pierce into the insulating coating of the lead wire and connect with the core of the lead wire under pressure and a remaining insulating coating is doubled. A doubled end of the lead wire received in each of the receiving apertures is positioned by a shoulder formed by a boundary wall between the receiving aperture and the through-aperture.
