摘要: A method is provided for neuromodulation to treat stroke. One step of the method includes recording an input waveform from a first site in the nervous system in a source subject. The first site is healthy or at least partially functioning. Next, an output waveform is applied to a second site in the nervous system of a target subject suffering from the stoke. The second site is diseased due to the stroke.

摘要: The present invention relates to a neural stimulation delivery device to deliver electrical and/or chemical stimulation to target sites in the central and peripheral nervous system. The device generally includes a tubular body defining a plurality of ports along the longitudinal axis thereof, a plurality of delivery structures insertable in the body, and a control mechanism in communication with the plurality of delivery structures to independently move each of the plurality of delivery structures through a respective one of the plurality of ports with respect to each other of the plurality of delivery structures. The ability of each delivery structure to be independently moveable through a respective port allows each delivery structure to be selectively advanced or retracted independent of the movement of another delivery structure.

摘要: A minimally invasive intraluminal electrode assembly that includes a cannulated tube and a plurality of wires disposed within the cannulated tube. Each of the plurality of wires has one of a plurality of electrical contacts on a distal end thereof. The distal portion of the plurality of wires assumes a radially constrained configuration within the cannulated tube in a retracted position and a radially extended position outward of the cannulated tube in a deployed position. The electrode assembly further comprises a spring electrode connecting the plurality of electrical contacts to collectively form a substantially circular configuration in a deployed position.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method of affecting a hypothalamic-related condition by electrically and/or chemically stimulating the hypothalamus. Also provided are methods of stimulating a hypothalamic-related target site by responding to a sensor signal relating to a physiological activity of the body associated with the hypothalamic-related condition desired to be affected. The present invention also describes a method of directly or indirectly modulating hormones synthesized or released by the hypothalamus to affect hypothalamic-related conditions involving hormonal function, dysfunction or imbalance.

摘要: Methods for neuromodulation using waveform signals. In certain embodiments, an input waveform is obtained from a signal source site in a source subject and an output waveform is applied to a target site in a target subject. The source subject is a human or animal and the signal source site is in the nervous system, including the brain. The source subject and target subject are the same subjects or different subjects. The output waveform is identical to the input waveform or derived from the input waveform. In some embodiments, the output waveform is modified in response to physiologic feedback. Also provided are systems for neuromodulation using waveform signals.
