    摘要： An open file format is used to structure the features and data within a document associated with a word processing application. The file format simplifies the way a word processing application organizes document features and data, and presents a logical model that is easily accessible. The file format is made up of a collection of modular parts that are stored within a container. The content included in the modular parts are XML that is based on ASCII. The XML schema provides a definitional framework for how the modular parts relate. This content allows tools to interrogate a word processing document to examine and utilize content and ensure that the file is written correctly. Each of the modular parts is capable of being interrogated separately regardless of whether the application that created the document is running. Information may also be changed, added, and deleted from each of the modular parts.

    摘要： The rear end of a dual lumen oocyte recovery needle is sealed in a plastics hub by means of two polyurethane seals compressed between the outside of the needle and opposite ends of a bore through the hub. The needle has an outer tube and an inner tube with a suction lumen along its length and which is deformed to provide a flushing lumen between its outside and the inside of the outer tube. A suction tube is joined to the rear end of the needle at the rear end of the hub in communication with the suction lumen. A flushing tube is joined in a side bore opening into the interior of the hub and communicating via a slot in the side of the needle with the flushing lumen.

Portions of a document, such as individual paragraphs or groups of paragraphs or fragments of text, are provided self-describing properties, such as file format type associated with the portion, style, font, list type, and the like. If such a portion of a document is subsequently linked to or copied or moved to a second document or to a different location in a first document, the self-describing properties provided for the portion travel with the portion to the second document or to the different location in the first document. An application receiving the content portion may consume and display the portion according to the properties provided for the portion.

    摘要： An all digital timing loop is employed in a hard disk drive read channel for improved timing performance. Synchronizing the read channel to a sinewave preamble pattern at the beginning of a servo or data read operation is accomplished by first determining an accurate initial estimate of phase angle, and loading that phase value into the digital phase lock loop phase interpolator without having to halt and restart the sample clock. The timing loop synchronizes to the preamble input pattern very quickly so that timing overhead is reduced. The initial phase estimate is formed by accumulating even and odd ADC samples over a selected integration period, and using those values to access an arctan lookup table. Since ratios of even and odd ADC samples are used, gain variations and other analog tolerance issues are avoided.
