摘要: A process for determining and labeling areas of interest, including steps for receiving a plurality of data points from a plurality of users, each data point received at a particular time, determining a user location for each of the plurality of data points and generating a heat map from the plurality of data points, wherein the heat map represents a population density distribution over a geographic area divided into a plurality of cells. In certain aspects, the process further includes steps for identifying at least one cluster of cells within the geographic, generating a bounded polygon for the at least one cluster of cells and storing the at least one cluster of cells and its corresponding bounded polygon as an area of interest in a geographical information system. Systems and machine-readable media are also provided.

In that regard, the system and method may select advertisements in response to a user searching for street addresses. The advertisements may be selected by searching for advertisements that match search terms associated with the street address, where the search terms were associated with the street address based on the businesses at the street address.

摘要: Personal recommendations are provided to users based on a relationship between place listings which with a user has interacted and collections of place listings. The user may interact with a place listing by reviewing the place, or accessing a web page that includes user-reviewed places. The collections of place listings are used to calculate a recommendation score for a candidate listing based on aggregate co-occurrence of the place listing and the candidate listing in the collections. The recommendation scores identify a probability that the user would appreciate the candidate listing based on the user's interaction with the place listing. Justifications may also be provided for display on the user's device to identify the relevance of the recommended listing.

摘要: In a general aspect, a method for modifying a geographic route from a starting location to a destination location can include, responsive to a search query, presenting a graphical user interface including a depiction of a route including a series plurality of sequential maneuvers from the starting location to the destination location, where at least one of the series plurality of sequential maneuvers is associated with one or more selectable visual attributes that correspond with static or real-time conditions. The method can also include, automatically retrieving a refined route upon a selection of a first selectable visual attribute of the one or more selectable visual attributes, the refined route having a maneuver of the plurality of sequential maneuvers corresponding with the first selectable visual attribute replaced with one or more different maneuvers and, upon automatically retrieving the refined route, presenting the refined route in the graphical user interface.
