    摘要: In a device (1) for making a beverage on the basis of interaction between a beverage extract and an extracting fluid, which comprises an openable and closeable chamber (50) for receiving and accommodating a quantity of the beverage extract, and heating/cooling means (30) for setting the temperature of the extracting fluid, arranged upstream of the chamber (50), a beverage making process can be performed with extracting fluid that is exactly at a desired temperature. During heat-up or cool-down phases of the heating/cooling means (30), the extracting fluid is transported to another position than the chamber (50) where the beverage making process is supposed to take place. For the purpose of determining an appropriate path of the extracting fluid in every possible situation, valve means (60) are applied, which are switchable under the influence of a change of the flow rate of the extracting fluid.

    摘要: When feedback loop control is used for controlling a temperature of liquid at an outlet (5) of a flow through heater, a volume of an ineffective portion (4) of the flow through heater at the outlet (5) constitutes a dead volume which causes a delay in the feedback process. In order to minimize the delay, an insert (6) is applied, which serves for reducing the dead volume by occupying most of this volume. In a practical case, the insert (6) comprises a duct system (12) for conveying liquid from a liquid conveying conduit (2) of the flow through heater to an outlet (10) of the insert (6). Preferably, a volume of such a liquid conveying duct system (12) is relatively small, so that the presence of the duct system (12) in the insert (6) does not spoil the dead volume reducing effect of the application of the insert (6).

    摘要: A liquid flow through heater for heating a liquid (10) comprises a channel (4) and an electric heater element (50) for heating at least a portion of the channel (4). A temperature sense unit (6, 60) senses a temperature (ST1; ST1, ST2) indicative of the temperature of the liquid. A flow control means (3) controls a flow of the liquid (10) through the channel (4). A controller (7) controls in a first phase (PH1), (i) the electric heater element (50) to pre-heat at least the portion of the channel (4), and (ii) the flow control means (3) to obtain a rate of flow of the liquid (10) through the channel (4) which is zero or relatively small with respect to a rate of flow during a second and/or third phase. The controller (7) controls in the second phase (PH2) succeeding the first phase (PH1), (i) the electric heater element (50) to supply a predetermined heating power independent on the sensed temperature (ST1; ST1, ST2), and (ii) the flow control means (3) to obtain a flow of the liquid (10) through the channel (4), and in the third phase (PH3) succeeding the second phase (PH2), (i) the electric heater element (50) to supply a heating power (HP) in dependence on the sensed temperature (ST1; ST1, ST2) to substantially stabilize the sensed temperature (ST1; ST1, ST2) on a desired target value (TV), and (ii) the flow control means (3) to obtain a flow of the liquid (10) through the channel (4).
