    摘要: A traffic delineator comprises a tubular body having first and second ends, the first end being configured as a base or being adapted for affixing to a base. The delineator may also include a slotted region to enhance flexing of the tubular body in response to vehicle impacts. The slotted region may include slot(s) formed transversely in the tubular body. In some embodiments, the slot(s) may include one or more discrete slot, each of which may define a hinged section of the tubular body. In some embodiments, the slot(s) may include a continuous transverse slot having a helical configuration. In some cases, the slotted region may be disposed proximate the first end, and a second slotted region or other window region may be disposed elsewhere on the tubular body so as to expose a reflective sheet that may be applied to an inner core disposed within the tubular body.

    摘要: A delineator includes a delineator body, a positioning member, and a reflective sheet. The delineator body and the positioning member include mounting features adapted to mate with each other at a plurality of positions corresponding to different positions of the positioning member on the delineator body. By selecting one of the different positions of the positioning member on the delineator body, the user can select a visibility configuration of the delineator. In some cases the reflective sheet may be bonded to the positioning member, so that the reflective sheet is positioned at a particular place on the delineator and visible to an observer when the positioning member is mounted in the selected position. In other cases the reflective sheet may be bonded to the delineator body, and the positioning member may cover one portion of the reflective sheet and leave another portion of the reflective sheet exposed to an observer.

    摘要: Various self-cleaning delineator embodiments incorporate a delineator design that includes a shell portion, a core disposed inside the shell portion, and a reflective sheet coupled to an outer surface of the core. A wind turbine mounted on or in the delineator energizes a mechanical energy storage device, such as a spring, in response to wind or other air movement. A drive mechanism couples to the storage device and is adapted to use energy from the storage device to provide relative rotational motion between the shell portion and the core. A cleaning material disposed on an inner surface of the shell contacts the reflective sheet such that the relative rotational motion between the shell portion and the first core causes the cleaning material to slide across the reflective sheet to remove debris therefrom. The drive mechanism may include an escapement mechanism to limit the rotational motion to a maximum speed.

    摘要: A traffic delineator comprises a core/shell construction which can help to protect reflective sheeting in the delineator from tampering and vandalism. The delineator may include an outer shell, and an inner core that fits inside the outer shell. Further, a reflective sheet may be applied to an outer surface of the core, the sheet having one or more edges. Aperture(s) may be formed in the outer shell to provide a window region, the window region adapted to expose at least some of the reflective sheet when the inner core is positioned inside the shell. The window region may be configured to avoid exposing at least some of, and in some cases any of, the one or more edges of the sheet. In such cases, the outer shell proximate the window region may cover some, or all, of the sheet edge(s) so that such sheet edge(s) are less accessible to vandals.
