    摘要: A method is performed to collect information in a machine including an on-board data link connecting a wireless device and at least one on-board module. The process includes providing a first operational mode for the wireless device that allows the wireless device to perform a first set of operations on data associated with the at least one on-board module and providing a second operational mode for the wireless device that allows the wireless device to perform a second set of operations on the data associated with the at least one on-board module, wherein the second set of operations is a subset of the first set of operations. The process also determines an operational mode for the wireless device based on predetermined criteria and configures the wireless device based on the determined operational mode. Further, the process includes operating the wireless device in either the first or second operational mode based on the configuring.

    摘要: An assembly for collecting material that is entrained in a gas stream comprises a housing defining a space within it, the housing having inlet and outlet ports for the gas that is to be filtered. The assembly includes a flow conduit which has a first conduit opening for communication with one of the ports and a second conduit opening for communication with the space within the housing. The axis of the first conduit opening and the axis of the second conduit opening are not aligned. The flow conduit contains at least one vane positioned within it so that the flow of gas along the conduit between the first and second conduit openings passes over the vane and is smoothed by it.

    摘要: A filter assembly for removing material entrained in a fluid stream includes a housing having a head part and a body part, and inlet and outlet ports for the fluid that is to be filtered, in which at least one of the ports is provided in the head part, the head part having a chamber port fluidly connected to the at least one port in the head part, the head and body parts having first formations which enable them to be connected to one another and separated by relative rotation. The assembly includes a filter element for removing material entrained in the fluid stream that can be received in the body part, the filter element and body part having second formations which restrict relative rotation between them, the filter element having a filter port, in which a fluid tight connection can be provided between the filter port and the chamber port by sliding one of them into the other along a first axis. One of the head part and the filter element provides an inclined surface which is inclined relative to the first axis, and the other provides an ejector part which can act against the said inclined surface so as to push the filter element away from the head part as the head part and the body part are separated by relative rotation, so as to free the filter port from the chamber port.

In one embodiment, the process includes determining whether a software update condition exists for software stored in the target module and when such a condition does exist, delivering software update data from a remote off-board system to the work machine. Further, the work machine may determine a location of the target module and whether an update delay condition exists. Also, the process may include delivering the software update to the target module if no update delay condition exists, and delaying the delivery of the software update data to the target module if an update delay condition does exist.

    摘要: A separator assembly for removing material that is entrained in a gas stream. The separator assembly comprises a housing having inlet and outlet ports for the gas from which material is to be removed. The inlet and outlet ports are located toward the upper end of the housing. A flow director is positioned so that gas flowing into the housing flows over the flow director so that the incoming gas is made to follow a generally helical path within the housing. The separator assembly also comprises a shield which extends across the housing towards the lower end thereof so as to leave a collection space between it and the lower end in which material that is separated from the gas stream can collect. There is at least one opening in or around the shield through which the material can flow past the shield into the collection space. The face of the shield which is directed towards the upper end of the housing is bowl-shaped.

    摘要: A filter assembly for removing material that is entrained in a gas stream. The filter assembly comprises a filter element comprising a wall of a filtration medium which defines a hollow space, for a gas stream to flow from the space through the wall to be filtered. The wall includes a filtration layer, and a drainage layer located outside the filtration layer in which liquid separated from the gas stream can collect. The filter element comprises first and second end caps at opposite ends of the wall, the first end cap including an inlet for a gas stream to be supplied to the space within the wall. The filter assembly further comprises a housing in which the filter element can be received when in use. The housing has an inlet port for a gas stream to flow into the housing which communicates with the inlet in the first end cap, and an outlet port through which gas which has passed through the filtration medium can leave the housing. The drainage layer extends over at least a part of the external surface of the second end cap between the second end cap and the housing and the part of the drainage layer between the second end cap and the housing is locally compressed by at least one longitudinally extending fin.
