    摘要: Provided are a method and an apparatus for decoding an audio signal. A method for decoding an audio signal encoded by a layered sinusoidal pulse coding scheme using one or more sinusoidal pulses includes decoding the encoded audio signal, setting a smoothing frequency band of the decoded audio signal according to a layer structure of the layered sinusoidal pulse coding scheme, dividing the smoothing frequency band into one or more subbands, and smoothing the decoded audio signal on a subband-by-subband basis. Accordingly, a decoding operation time can be reduced and the quality of a synthesized signal can be improved by variably setting a frequency band to be smoothed, when decoding an audio signal encoded by a layered sinusoidal pulse coding scheme using one or more sinusoidal pulses.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for predicting video traffic are provided. The method includes extracting the statistical properties of previous Moving Picture Experts Group (MPEG)-4 video traffic and predicting the size of a subsequent frame based on the statistical properties of the previous MPEG-4 video traffic. Therefore, it is possible to address such problems associated with traffic bursts as transmission delays or low throughputs and thus to improve the performance of communication and network systems that transmit video traffic.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for adaptive sub-band allocation of spectral coefficients are disclosed. The sizes of sub-bands are determined according to the distribution of spectral coefficients transformed from an input speech/audio signal to perform more elaborate quantization in units of sub-bands. Thus, quantization noise of the spectral coefficients is reduced, and sound quality in a frequency region is enhanced, thereby improving the quality of the signal.
