    摘要: Examples are generally described that include methods for selecting a transmit mode in a communications system. An example method may include calculating a first transmission rate for data in a multiple-input multiple-output mode of the communications system and calculating a second transmission rate for the data in a single-input multiple-output mode of the communications system. A mode may be selected from the group consisting of the multiple-input multiple-output mode and the single-input multiple-output mode based, at least in part, on an energy consumption of the first and second transmission rates. Data may be transmitted from a transceiver in the communications system using the selected mode.

    摘要: A base station is capable of transmitting a signal in a wireless communication network. The base station decides channel state information matrices of respective channels by determining a state of the channels corresponding to respective transmission antennas. The base station calculates transmission beam forming vectors for the respective transmission antennas by a combination of a dot product and a cross product of the channel state information matrices. Thereafter, the base station beam-forms signals for the respective transmission antennas by using the respective transmission beam forming vectors, and transmitting the beam-formed signals.

    摘要: An apparatus and method for simultaneously providing service to users each having a different number of antennas in a multiple-antenna wireless communication system are provided. The communication method discloses a BS in a wireless communication system that services a first multiple antenna mode using X transmit antennas and a second multiple antenna mode using Y transmit antennas such that (Y>X), the BS determines an MS to be serviced in the second multiple antenna mode and receives a sounding signal from the MS. The BS estimates an uplink channel using the received sounding signal and acquires downlink channel values using estimated uplink channel values. Then the BS services the MS in the second multiple antenna mode using the downlink channel values.

A Base Station (BS) includes a calculator for generating relational expressions between beamforming vectors of Mobile Stations (MSs) using channel information of each MS, for determining beamforming vector candidates of each MS from the relational expressions using generalized Eigen-analysis, and for selecting beamforming vectors for each MS from the beamforming vector candidates, and a plurality of Transmit (Tx) beamformers for performing Tx beamforming on dedicated pilot symbols to be transmitted to each MS using the beamforming vectors for each MS.
