Disclosed is a thermoplastic composition comprising a poly(trimethylene terephthalate) and about 0.2 to about 30 weight % of a modifier comprising organic acid and an ionomer derived from an ethylene acid copolymer in which the combined acid moieties of the organic acid and acid copolymer are at least partially neutralized with cations of magnesium, calcium, zinc, or a combination thereof.

Provided herein are compositions comprising an ionomer and a polyamine or a tertiary polyamide. The polyamine and the tertiary polyamide have a molecular weight of greater than 500 Da and do not contain an ester moiety or a primary amine moiety. The polyamine comprises at least three moieties that are tertiary amines or hindered secondary amines, and the polyamide comprises tertiary amide moieties and no secondary or primary amide moieties. The compositions may optionally include a filler. Further provided are articles such as golf balls and films containing these compositions.

Blends of highly-neutralized ionomers of copolymers of ethylene and high weight percentages of .alpha.,.beta.-ethylenically-unsaturated C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 carboxylic acids dispersed in a continuous or co-continuous polyamide phase are provided and a process for making such blends. The blends are particularly useful in applications such as molded parts where toughness, high gloss, abrasion/scratch (mar) resistance, UV resistance, high temperature properties and stiffness are desired.

Disclosed is a composition comprising or produced from poly(trimethylene terephthalate), an ionomer of an ethylene acid copolymer comprising copolymerized units of at least one α,β-ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid comonomer, a nucleating agent and optionally an ethylene ester copolymer. Also disclosed are articles prepared from the composition. Also disclosed is a process for preparing the compositions, including methods for controlling the melt viscosity and strain hardening of the compositions.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to polyamide/polymer blends having a morphology enhancing reagent selected from a phosphorous containing compound such as a hypophosphite salt. Significant physical effects are seen in Tensile strength as well as Vicat softening points. The blends having polyamide and a polymer selected from, for example, a neutralized ethylene copolymer, and the phosphorous containing reagent are useful in producing molded parts and other fabricated parts requiring high strength and toughness. Molded parts produced from such blends also have high gloss, high abrasion/scratch resistance and good high temperature properties.
