At least one parameter of interest is determined at at least one location along the wellbore. At least one valve is controllably actuated to discharge at least a portion of at least one fluid from inside the drill string to an annulus in the wellbore to modify a local property of the return fluid in the annulus based at least in part on the measured parameter of interest.

    摘要: An apparatus, system and method are provided for measuring state properties without requiring an internal or proximate power supply. The apparatus provides a sensing device that is responsive to fluctuations in a state property that are encountered within the test zone. Due to the fluctuations experienced by the sensing device, a sensing signal is generated and transmitted to an optical device, such as an interferometer. The sensing signal's affect on the optical device produces an interference pattern that may be detected remotely and correlated to the fluctuation experienced by the sensing device.

    摘要: An improved system and method is disclosed for expanding a fluid permeable tubular downhole in an open hole completion. A high quality borehole is first drilled using a bottomhole assembly having a long gauge bit and a short bit-to-bend ratio. A fluid-permeable tubular is then inserted into an open-hole portion of the wellbore and preferably expanded in place. The expandable tubular may include an external filtering medium. Hydrocarbons may pass from the formation through the expanded fluid permeable tubular and into the borehole, to be recovered.
