A corrugated plate structure including a plurality of first rows of members, each first row including a first plurality of members connected end-to-end lengthwise. Each first row has members of variable widths along its length to define a first edge, and the first edge is similarly shaped for each first row. The corrugated plate structure further includes a plurality of second rows of members, each second row including a second plurality of members connected end-to-end lengthwise. Each second row has members of variable widths along its length to define a second edge, and the second edge is similarly shaped for each second row. The first edge and the second edge are complementary in shape, and the first rows and second rows are connected side-by-side along their first and second edges, where each member of the first row is interconnected with one member of the second row.

A tank assembly includes an elongated plastic tubular pipe structure and at least one end wall or internal bulkhead wall attached to the plastic tubular pipe structure. The end wall or internal bulkhead wall is a composite unit formed by a plastic sheet member sized to cover a cross-sectional area defined by the tubular pipe structure and a composite reinforcement strip bonded to the plastic sheet member. The composite reinforcement strip includes an elongated plastic base portion having a plurality of spaced apart ribs extending from a first side thereof and lengthwise therealong, each rib comprising an elongated metal reinforcement encased in plastic, the plastic base portion having a second side abutting against a surface of the plastic sheet member. Other structures can be reinforced using composite strips that are electrofusion welded to one or more walls of the structure.

A containment system is disclosed, the containment system including a wall member with a plurality of corrugations, each corrugation extending horizontally along a length of the wall member. Each of a multiplicity of the corrugations has openings therein, and at least some of the openings in the corrugations at least partially align to form an upright keyway through the wall member. The system further includes a bracket that has a plurality of corrugation-receiving spaces therein. The wall member is positioned with corrugations in respective corrugation-receiving spaces. The system also includes a locking member received in the upright keyway of the wall member and positioned such that interaction between the locking member and portions of the bracket prevent the wall member from being pulled away from the bracket.

A tank assembly having an elongated plastic tubular pipe structure and at least one end wall attached to the plastic tubular pipe structure and sized to cover a cross-sectional area defined by the plastic tubular pipe structure. The end wall is a composite unit including a first plastic sheet member having an edge portion and a second plastic sheet member bonded with the edge portion of the first plastic sheet member. The first plastic sheet member is located inward of the second plastic sheet member, the second plastic sheet member having a body portion with an outwardly domed shape to define an internal space between the body portion and a body portion of the first plastic sheet member. A structural foam is disposed in the internal space to provide continuity between the first plastic sheet member and the second plastic sheet member.

A thermoplastic fusion element extends along an exterior surface of the flange. A liner structure within a shaft or tunnel includes at least first and second liner plate members assembled together, the liner plate members formed of metal plate material having respective metal surfaces in contact with each other along a plate joint. A thermoplastic fusion seal arrangement is located along the plate joint. A method of lining a mine shaft bore includes: providing a plurality of liner plate members, each liner plate member having a curved shape; assembling a first set of liner plate members into a first ring structure; assembling a second set of liner plate members into a second ring structure; mounting the second ring structure in abutting contact with the first ring structure; and forming at least one seal between the first ring structure and the second ring structure.
