    摘要: Commissioning a lighting system is disclosed. A user can be provided with a pointing device capable of emitting or returning a signal which can be received by detectors co-located with each fixture in the lighting system. The user can add a fixture to a group by aiming the pointing device at the fixture when the fixture is not assigned to the group, and the user can remove a fixture from a group in the same way when the fixture was previously assigned to the group. Additional user gestures are also disclosed.

    摘要: A sufficient number of pick-and-place devices (e.g., rolls) whose periods of contact with a substrate are equal or substantially equal to one another are used to form continuous void-free uniform coatings despite the occurrence of unintended or intended coating caliper surges, depressions or voids. The wetted surfaces of the devices contact and re-contact the coating at positions on the substrate that are different from one another. Extremely uniform and extremely thin coatings can be obtained at very high rates of speed. The pick-and-place devices also facilitate drying and reduce the sensitivity of drying ovens to coating caliper surges. Equipment containing the pick-and-place devices is simple to construct, set up and operate, and can easily be adjusted to alter coating thickness and compensate for coating caliper variations.

    摘要: A power supply module package suitable for both high packaged power density and cost effective manufacture. In an exemplary embodiment, the power supply module includes: (1) at least one printed circuit board containing conductors for interconnecting components of the power supply, (2) a thermally conductive baseplate or case operable for transferring heat generated inside the module to the outside environment, wherein the external package dimensions are of a sufficiently small size to allow the user the greatest flexibility in the design of the overall circuit assembly, (3) at least one power magnetic device operable for providing electrical isolation between the input and the output of the power module, and (4) a set of electrical leads to facilitate communication and power flow between the module and circuitry being powered. The present invention provides a highly compact, thermally conductive package for a power supply module (perhaps a DC/DC converter) that is cost effective, readily manufacturable, durable, and easily mounted to a circuit card, allowing the power module to, for example, form a portion of a distributed power architecture.

    摘要: A semiconductor rectifier assembly comprises first and second electroconductive posts having portions between which a semiconductor body is sandwiched under pressure. A sealed housing for the semiconductor body comprises said posts, a hollow cylindrical insulator surrounding said semiconductor body and said post portions, and sealing means at opposite ends of the insulator for respectively forming seals between said posts and the ends of the insulator. The sealing means at one end of the insulator comprises a pair of annular metal flanges joined together at their outer peripheries. One flange is bonded adjacent its inner periphery to the insulator and the other is bonded adjacent its inner periphery to the adjacent post. A thin annular disc of electrical insulating material has a first portion adjacent its outer periphery disposed between said flanges and a second portion located radially inwardly of the first portion extending between the inner periphery of the insulator and the adjacent post. The insulating disc, when exposed to an electric arc, evolves gases that oppose motion of the arc terminal onto the metal flanges, thereby protecting the flanges from being burned through or otherwise perforatd by the arc.

    摘要: A helicopter rotor blade includes a rearwardly swept tip portion having a leading edge of aerofoil profile located forward of the leading edge of a central portion of the blade, and blended with a sharp tip edge of higher sweep magnitude than the leading edge and extending rearwardly to an extreme tip of the blade. A rearwardly swept trailing edge extends from a junction with the trailing edge of the central portion to the extreme tip so that the tip portion has a chord dimension greater than that of the central portion of the blade.In operation, the rotor blade utilizes a stable vortex dominated flow field created over the tip portion to provide operational advantages in respect of both a retreating and an advancing blade.
