Abstract:
A series of hetero-oxy alkanamines are effective pharmaceuticals for the treatment of conditions related to or affected by the reuptake of serotonin and by the serotonin 1.sub.A receptor. The compounds are particularly useful for alleviating the symptoms of nicotine and tobacco withdrawal, and for the treatment of depression and other conditions for which serotonin reuptake inhibitors are used.

Abstract:
An improved sucker rod pumping system for an oil well includes a valve member mounted in the rod string, a valve seat formed in the wellhead, and means for moving the rod string upwardly to cause the valve member to sealingly engage the valve seat. The valve member is located on the rod string such that during normal pumping operation, it will not contact the valve seat or otherwise interfere with the pumping operations. When it is desired to close in the well or inject a fluid therein, the rod string is elevated above its normal stroke until the valve member sealingly engages the valve seat.

Abstract:
An X-Y recorder for high speed plotting on a plain web, i.e., a web without registration holes or other special means to maintain alignment of the web during plotting. Two embodiments of these plotters are disclosed with one degree of motion being achieved by moving the web and the second degree of motion being obtained by moving a pen assembly substantially perpendicularly to the movement of the web. To enhance the repeatability of the plotting on the web as it is moved back and forth, a random rough surfaced drive wheel assembly is included with that wheel surface making indentations along one surface of the driven edge of the web as it is first passed through the drive wheel assembly. Then as the web is reversed, these indentations substantially remesh with the random rough surface of the drive wheels.
Abstract:
A mechanism for use in insertion and extraction of a first printed circuit board (PCB) to and from a second PCB so as to engage and disengage an electrical connector of the first PCB to and from a corresponding electrical connector of the second PCB. The insertion and extraction mechanism includes a stiffener bar and a mounting block. The stiffener bar is affixed to the first PCB immediately adjacent to the electrical connector for stiffening the first PCB in the vicinity of the electrical connector. The mounting block is affixed to the second PCB immediately adjacent to the corresponding electrical connector. A threaded fastener is carried by the stiffener bar and is engageable with the mounting block. Rotation of the fastener in a first direction causes the first PCB to be inserted to the second PCB which causes the electrical connector to be engaged with the corresponding electrical connector. Rotation of the fastener in a second direction causes the first PCB to be extracted from the second PCB which causes the electrical connector to be disengaged from the corresponding electrical connector. An alignment pin of the stiffener bar is engageable with an alignment opening in the mounting block to insure that the electrical connector and the corresponding electrical connector are properly aligned during insertion and extraction of the first PCB to and from the second PCB.
