    摘要: A lock assembly is provided to secure a multi-stage folding boom assembly having left and right booms, each boom having an middle section that pivots about a vertical axis with respect to an inner section, an outer section that pivots about a second vertical axis with respect to the middle section. The lock assembly includes a first interlock portion that receives a second interlock portion when the first section pivots laterally inward about the first vertical axis with respect to the second section to a first stage folded position. As the middle section pivots forward and laterally inward toward a second stage folded position with respect to the third section, the first interlock portion slidably moves and interlocks with the second interlock portion to restrain the outer section from falling out of alignment with respect to the middle section.

    摘要: A lock assembly operable to secure a lift linkage associated with moving a boom assembly between a lowered, operative position and a raised, inoperative position is provided. The lock assembly includes a lock pin mounted at a carrying frame interconnected between a lift linkage and the boom assembly. The lock assembly also includes a lock plate mounted at the lift linkage. In the raised position of the lift linkage, the lock plate includes a slot configured to align so as receive the lock pin. Once aligned, the boom is pivoted toward the folded, stowed position. As the boom pivots, the boom pushes the lock pin through the slot. The lift linkage is then lowered to seat the lock pin in the slot and thereby secure the lift linkage and supported boom in the raised, folded position.

    摘要: The invention provides an arrangement and method for detecting shorts between solder pads 31-34 in the production testing of circuit boards. The invention is particularly suitable for circuits driven by a constant current source or sink 6. By providing a conductor 101-103 between the solder pads, connected by a resistive path 11 to a source of potential 12, an additional current will flow through the resistive path to the solder pads if a short circuit exists in the region wherein the conductor is positioned. The additional current can be detected by applying a test probe in a circuit including the solder pads. The invention also provides an arrangement and method for detecting whether a polarity sensitive component 1 has been correctly connected to terminals 4, 5 on the circuit board. The component 1 can be a capacitor having one relatively wide positive terminal 2 and one relatively narrow negative terminal 3. The positive and negative terminals are intended to be connected to a positive and a negative connector respectively on the circuit board. Auxiliary pads 6a, 6b coupled to the positive connector 4 are provided juxtaposed with the negative connector 5 such that, if the capacitor is wrongly placed, the positive terminal 2 of the capacitor connects the negative connector 5 with the auxiliary connector 6a, 6b. Thus, the capacitor 1 is short-circuit and the misplacement can be detected by a suitable testing method.

    摘要: A new approach to capturing and reproducing either live or recorded three-dimensional sound is described. Called MTB2.5 for “Motion-Tracked Binaural 2.5,” the method employs six real or simulated microphones, a head tracker, and special signal-processing procedures to combine the signals picked up by the microphones. In the microphone array, two central microphones are placed at the positions of the ears of a listener facing forward, and four peripheral microphones are located in pairs on either side of the central microphones. Only the low-frequency components of the four peripheral microphone signals are needed, and the total bandwidth required is approximately 2.5 times the bandwidth of one full-bandwidth audio channel. MTB2.5 achieves a high degree of realism by effectively placing the listener's ears in the space where the sounds are occurring, moving the virtual ears in synchrony with the listener's head motions. MTB2.5 also provides a universal format for recording spatial sound.

    摘要: A draft force sensor is provided for a coupling member coupled between a towing vehicle and a towed earth engaging implement, such as a scraper. The draft force sensor includes first and second bores extending through the coupling member. Each bore has a horizontal axis which extends perpendicular to a main fore-and-aft axis of the coupling member. The second bore is positioned above the first bore and spaced apart from the first bore. Each of the bores is surrounded by an outer cylindrical wall. Four electrical strain gauges are spaced apart and placed on the wall of each of the bores. A center line bisects an axis line which extends between the axes of the first and second bores. The axis of each bore is spaced apart from the center line by a distance which is less than a diameter of the bores. The strain gauges are connected electrically in a circuit which generates a draft force signal in response to draft forces applied to the coupling member.

A labyrinth seal stage extends between the shaft and the housing.
