The present invention relates to a system that will permit the automatic measurement of the efficiencies of a delivery process from end to end. This system uses Radio Frequency based transponders and reader infrastructure to capture data as objects that contain RF transponders pass process points. In particular this invention permits the capture of delivery data automatically at the final end point. This invention is applicable in delivery applications such as those performed by post offices.

A height adjustment mechanism extends upwardly from the bearing plate and through the piling to raise the piling, and the corresponding hinge axis, by operating the height adjustment mechanism from the top. The method includes placing a jack piling assembly and second lower piling, each having a hinge axis, into the earth and operating the height adjustment mechanism of the jack piling assembly to align the hinge axes.

A system and method for application scoping that can be added to the application model for an application server, making it less global-centric and more application-centric. The JNDI tree is configured to allow for an application-private JNDI section. This private JNDI section then acts as a private data repository for the application. Resources that are needed by the application can be stored in the application-specific JNDI tree, and thus “scoped” to that particular application. As applications are added to the system, they can be specified in this way. The overall result is fewer changes at the system-wide or global level. The application scoping features provided by the invention include: Use of application scoped JNDI tree; Application Scoped JDBC DataSources; and Application Scoped Security. Application scoped resources provide two primary advantages—Security, in that resources owned by one application can't be used by another; and Simplified packaging and configuration.

An embodiment of the invention provides an ability to configure the dispatch policy in an application or transaction server. For servlets and JSP's this is configured on a per-URL (Uniform Resource Locator) basis, RMI and EJB it is configured on a per-method basis. Available dispatch options include the ability to execute the request in the same thread that read the request or to enqueue it on a queue which feeds a pool of worker threads. Using this configuration one can control various quality of service parameters of the requests. Requests may be expedited by executing them directly in the thread which read them, thus skipping the queue. Alternatively, some requests may be throttled by assigning them to a queue which is tended by only a limited number of threads.
