    摘要： A meter socket includes plural clips for plug-in reception of the contacts of a watt-hour meter. Each clip is secured to a combined mounting and terminal member by a nut and bolt. The bolt additionally secures the terminal member against removal from the insulation plate of the meter socket. The terminal member besides mounting the clip on the base plate also serves as a connection for a line, load or ground wire.

    摘要： An electrical grounding system for equipment (such as electrical instruments in an intensive-care hospital room) includes two ground conductors, both connected to a common ground and to the equipment to be grounded and forming a loop. In case of a break in one conductor between the equipment and ground, the other conductor maintains the equipment ground. A ground-integrity checking transformer has a secondary winding of few turns interposed as a series element in the grounding loop and injects only a minimal test voltage in the loop. A primary winding of many turns is used for impressing excitation; and the primary winding is in a test circuit that evidences a break in the grounding loop.

    摘要： A line-voltage thermostat is described having a snap-switch proportioned to carry heavy line current to an electric room heater. The snap-switch is mounted on a baseplate which is to be mounted on a wall box. The screws used to mount the baseplate have long shanks so as to be accessible well forward of the baseplate. The mounting screws extend through arched straps which are sheared free of the baseplate except at their ends. This avoids upset of the calibration due to deformation of the baseplate during tightening of the mounting screws, considering mainly the area of the baseplate where the switch is mounted. The thermostat has a bimetal held at a hinge point by a single unique spring. Fixed ears project toward the bimetal to limit the extent the bimetal can be depressed, protecting the switch from damage and from calibration error due to excessive manual force on the bimetal when the thermostat is being installed or serviced.

    摘要： A thermostat is described having a bimetal that actuates a snapswitch for maintaining the temperature of the room at approximately a given set-point. A knob operates a cam for controlling the resting position of the bimetal to determine the temperature set-point. The knob has a series of radial fingers which can be broken away individually, and the stationary structure of the thermostat has a fixed lug that can be bent up into the path of the knob fingers. Certain fingers of the knob are broken away and the lug is bent into the space left free of fingers. The remaining fingers limit the rotation of the knob and thus limit the range of adjustment.
