Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods thereof for assessing patient specific data. A system for preoperatively assessing a patient may include a wearable device, such as a vest having a plurality of segmented compartments configured to apply force(s) onto the patient's spine, a pump connected to the vest and configured to inflate the compartments of the vest, and a computer for receiving patient specific data from the vest. The force(s) and resulting displacement to the spine may be measured and used to calculate the stiffness of the spine, range of motion, flexibility, or other biomechanical information for the patient.

Abstract: An implant insertion tool includes an outer shaft, an inner shaft received in the outer shaft, and two arms coupled to the outer shaft and the inner shaft. The inner shaft translates within the outer shaft and has angled ramps that slide within complementary angled ramps in the two arms. The arms engage an implant for insertion into a body. When the inner shaft translates along a longitudinal axis, it causes the angled ramps to slide against the complementary angled ramps in the arms such that the two arms move laterally relative to the longitudinal axis of the outer shaft to engage and disengage the implant.

Abstract: A camera tracking system receives patient reference tracking information indicating pose of a patient reference array tracked by a patient tracking camera relative to a patient reference frame. A local XR headset view pose transform is determined between a local XR headset reference frame and the patient reference frame. Remote reference tracking information is received indicating pose of a remote reference array tracked by a remote reference tracking camera. A remote XR headset view pose transform is determined between a remote XR headset reference frame of a remote XR headset and the remote reference array. A 3D computer image is transformed from a local pose determined using the local XR headset view pose transform to a remote pose determined using the remote XR headset view pose transform. The transformed 3D computer image is provided to the remote XR headset for display with the remote pose relative to the remote XR headset reference frame.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method of forming pilot apertures for surgical screws. The method provides at least three points of contact to the screw shank to provide reliable positioning and retention of the bone screw. The method also provides slots or areas for insertion and retention of bone growth promoting materials which further secure the bone screw over time. The method is useful for patients of all ages, and may be particularly useful for patients that have osteoporosis or patients that are very active by providing additional securement of the bone screw to the underlying bone.

Abstract: A method for retracting body tissue providing a retractor system that includes a rail having two opposed widened rail portions separated by a narrowed portion, each widened portion engageable by a separate clamp. The clamps are configured to support the rail to a fixed surface, or to support a surgical device. Each clamp may independently be positioned or slid along the rail to a desired location without interference with a clamp on an opposing widened rail portion. A device clamp is formed of spherical mating portions which enable alignment of a surgical device along six degrees of freedom, and tightenable by securing a single fastener. A retractor blade mount enables an angular and tilting disposition of a retractor blade, as well as remote manipulation of the retractor blade.
