摘要： A convertible trailer assembly is provided that can be pushed or pulled. The trailer assembly can be converted between pushed or pulled operation or provided as a retrofit assembly for a stroller that allows its conversion between pushed or pulled operation. The Assembly includes a linkage assembly to provide a smoother towing experience for the user. The linkage uniquely takes up the constant jarring motion that is incompatible as between the user and the trailer and dissipates it in a toggle that consists of a lever extending upwardly from a tow point on the trailer. When accelerating or going uphill the toggle pulls forward, at equilibrium the toggle motion absorbs the incremental differences in acceleration/deceleration and at the rear limit of its range of motion, the toggle pushes a brake actuator to slow the trailer.

摘要： A spinal decompression system for the treatment of low back pain arising from lumbar disc disease that horizontally separates the vertebra by effectively applying the desired traction to relieve pain and stimulate healing by opening the pathway to the disc while maintaining the basic comfort of the patient. The system employs horizontal separation via a cam that is positioned between a stationary platform and a traction harness that moves relative to the platform. When the cam is activated it pushes the harness relative to the stationary platform. The cam action separates the vertebra by applying traction force to the harness relative to the table support section. The cam can be actuated using a lever arm, a hand cranked worm drive, hand wheel or an electric motor. To control the pressure being exerted on the spine, the cam drive is spring loaded to allow for the relief of any over pressure.

A sealed air system including a conduit interconnects the bellows and is operable for reciprocating transfer of air from bellow to bellow. Each of the foot treadles is pivotably movable between upper and lower positions, and has a resting position between the upper and lower positions. The resting position of the foot treadles defines a resting position of the bellows while the upper and lower positions of the foot treadles respectively define elongated and compressed positions of the bellows. In use, the elongated and compressed positions of the bellows are each no more than 5 degrees off the center resting position thereby reducing stress on the bellows.

摘要： A striding-type exercise device includes a unique upper body exercise arrangement. The exercise apparatus includes a frame having spaced upright support arms, two spaced pivotable leg members respectively pivotally mounted to the support arms for providing lower body striding movement and, two spaced, upwardly curved rails respectively mounted to the support members with two grip members respectively slidably mounted on the curved rails for providing upper body exercise. The leg members include platforms for receiving the feet of the user that is positioned between the spaced support members while the grip members are operative for receiving the hands of the user. The grip members are fashioned from a material which provides for a smooth sliding action on the rails. Resistance to movement of the grip members can be provided by physically squeezing the grip members, or alternatively, the grip members may further include a pocket for receiving a sheet of weighted material or a sheet of magnetic material, each of which provides active resistance to sliding movement of the grip members. In use, the leg members are pivotally reciprocated forwardly and rearwardly to simulate the natural stride of the legs during walking, while the grip members are slidably movable along the curved length of said rails to track the swinging arc of the user's arms during reciprocation of the arms. Alternatively, the leg members can be locked in position for use of only the upper body rails, or the user can grasp the handlebar to utilize only the lower body striding apparatus.

摘要： A strength training exercise apparatus includes a frame having an upright back rest, and a horizontal seat, and further includes opposing arm members pivotally mounted to the back rest. The arm members are movable through an arcuate range of motion, and include locking pins for selectively locking the arm members in desired angular positions. The apparatus still further includes a resistance assembly consisting of a fixed anchor mounted on the frame, a movable anchor which is movable relative to the fixed anchor, and a plurality of elastomeric resistance cords releasably secured between the movable anchor and the fixed anchor to provide resistance to movement of the movable anchor. A pull line is mounted on guide pulleys along the length of the arm members, and is received in association with the movable anchor whereby outward movement of the pull line with respect to the arm members causes movement of the movable anchor with respect to the fixed anchor. The exercise apparatus further consists of a leg member pivotally mounted to the seat, and a second resistance assembly including a second movable anchor coupled to the leg member, and a second plurality of elastomeric resistance cords secured between the fixed anchor and the second movable anchor for providing resistance to pivotal movement of the leg member.

摘要： A striding exercise device includes a base having two elongated parallel tracks which curve upwardly in a constant radial arc, and two footskates which are rotatably supported on the tracks for reciprocating movement thereon. The radial arc generally corresponds to the natural swinging arc of a human leg as the leg pivots about the hip. When the operator stands on the footskates and reciprocates the footskates back and forth along the upwardly curved tracks, the operator's torso is maintained in a stationary and balanced position over the base. The reduction in torso movement substantially eliminates strain on the leg joints, particularly the knee and hip joints, caused by up and down movement of the torso and further substantially eliminates back strain caused by reaching and bending at the waist.

摘要： A ball and elastic cord is affixed to a finger band so that the ball may be thrown, retrieved and paddled by a user's hand. A finger band comprising a strip wrapped about and secured to a finger by locking means such as frictional fabric pads hold the cord snugly about a finger. The cord is firmly secured while permitting adjustment of cord length by threading through apertures in stiffened plates on opposite sides of the strip. The ball in one embodiment has a fabric cover internally filled like a bean bag with plastic pellets and contains a semi-spherical internal cup anchor for securing the cord to the ball. An electronic circuit with a spring biased switch responds to a predetermined force threshold on the cord for signalling by audio or visual means identifying different balls to be used in various games. One or more photo-diode lamps thus can identify one of several balls or players directly or by means of shaped decals, etc. A translucent ball cover may respond by fluorescence to light to store the signal after a momentary switch contact. The ball is manipulated in game steps to actuate the signal by the magnitude of force on the ball at the end of a throw or in response to external forces by contact with another player's ball or cord.
