    摘要： A hospital bed (10) especially adapted for use by a woman giving birth is disclosed. The bed includes a base (11) on which a litter frame (12) is positioned. A lift assembly (14) attached to the base and is connected to a inner frame (50) located inside the litter frame. The lift assembly moves the inner frame and litter frame up and down. The litter frame is pivotally connected to the inner frame so that the litter frame can be selectively moved in the Trendelenburg position.

    摘要： A safety stop member which consists of an L-shaped member, plural fasteners for fastening a first leg of the L to the floor surface, a second leg of the L being oriented in an upstanding relation relative to the first leg and to the floor surface and configured so that the upstanding second leg will interfere with and engage a safety bar on an emergency cot only when the safety bar is positioned adjacent a juncture between the first and second legs. An outwardly facing side of the second leg is oriented generally flush with an edge of the access opening so that when the emergency cot extends outwardly from the access opening in the cargo area and the safety bar engages the second leg, the base on the emergency cot will be sufficiently spaced outwardly of an outermost facing surface of a step bumper on the emergency vehicle to facilitate an unobstructed deployment of the base to the deployed position thereof.

    摘要： A hospital bed (10) especially adapted for use by a woman giving birth. The bed includes a base (11) on which a litter frame (12) is positioned. A foot frame (24) that carriers a complementary lower mattress (26) is slidably attached to the end of the litter frame. Foot rests (30) are mounted to foot pans (28) that also extend rearward from the litter frame. The foot rests are attached to the foot pans by linkages (32). The linkages stow the foot pans under the foot frame and hold them above the foot frame when their use is required. When use of the foot rests is required, they are merely pivoted around the sides of the foot frame and lower mattress. No components need to be reset in order to set the foot rests for use. A leg rest (34) is attached to the underside of each foot rest. When use of the leg rests is desired, the foot rests are rotated around the linkages to present the leg rests to the birthing mother.
